I don't think Depp could carry off the replacement.
Daniel Day Lewis could, although he might be a bit old.
Hugh Jackman has worked with Nolan before on the Prestige... He has the acting chops... It would be interesting to see what he could do with the character.
Something tells me that Ryan Reynolds would actually be able to carry it off. He's genuinely a good actor. Just gets iffy roles.
Ed Norton would be a brilliant Joker.
Actually... Ed Norton would be my first choice for a replacement.
Daniel Day Lewis and Johnny Depp are the only actors you mentioned that are capable of disappearing in their characters. Ed Norton and Ryan Reynolds are always Ed Norton and Ryan Reynolds.
I would point out films such as fight club for norton. He was totally absorbed in that film. He's an amazing actor and he can do very complex characters.
ddl is indeed too oldI don't think Depp could carry off the replacement.

Depp is perfect.
Do you remember that ''leaked pages of the script''?
POLICE: What was more flashing at him? Eyes? Hair?
DUDE: Smile... His smile...
49 locations, where we had to go around and take pictures of giant letters to make "The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules."Which viral was this?
I saved that on my computer. It's quite touching.
If you're talking about the casting sides, I think all of them were actually pieces from the script. We've seen some (albeit slightly rewritten) in footage now.Man, I hope that makes it in.

This pic is full of win. (In that sad but cool way)
