The Dark Knight TDK Nearly Upon Us: A SHH Reflection Thread

For me, after the news of Ledger being the Joker & the first image I had totally lost interest & thought Nolan was on drugs. But as soon as I saw the first trailer, I was blown away.

Yes, I admit I was an idiot. Ever since that trailer I have continued to be blown away by every image & clip of Ledgers Joker. Very rarely have I seen actors BECOME the character, the voice, etc (Daniel Day Lewis in Gangs of New York comes to mind), it almost goes beyond just acting.

And how can we look back at all the highs and lows of TDK without giving credit to the only SHH! organization to make the Why So Serious funny papers. (It's true, we inspired one of Joker's jokes in theHaHaHaTimes) - THE SONS OF CRIPSIN'S FATHER.

TEH KNIGHTS OF TEH HYPE! LULZ!

Dear Warner Bros,

You continue to torment the true fans of Batman, i.e. the Tim Burton fans. First you refused our request to digitally insert Crispin Glover into the film. Then to add insult to injury, you kept the original moustache grown by Gary Oldman when we told you that Pat Hingle's was much better suited for the Batverse. Now we see that all scenes in this film have been directed by Christopher Nolan, a pretentious filmmaker that has chosen to take a totally unrealistic view of Batman and we've decided that the only way to save this franchise is to get a director more capable of handling realism and have him redirect all the scenes, which will then be digitally inserted over the original work directed by Christopher Nolan. We are all in agreement that the ideal man for this re-shoot is director Christopher Nolan. We demand you immediately hire Nolan to re-film the movie and have his work digitally replace all scenes orginally directed by Christopher Nolan. We demand that you comply this time... or otherwise you will suffer the consequences.

Respectfully,

Signed,

THE SONS OF CRISPIN'S FATHER

Whatever happened to Mustache?

GoogleMe94 realized he sucks and the Mustache thread was killed by Morg. I lost like 175 posts because of that. That was the greatest thread ever to exist.

Gordon: I never got to say mustache.

Batman: And you'll never have too.

GOD! That was a great night.

I have been waiting for The Dark Knight ever since the Joker card was presented to Batman by Gordon in BB. It seems like it was just yesterday when I saw the film in theaters.

A little more than three years have passed and I'm just as psyched for this movie. One of the things that I like about waiting for a movie like this is the information we all share. So, besides actually watching the movie for the first time, I'm sure most of us would agree that the hype is a joyous part for all of us. I'm sure The Dark Knight will impress us all.

I know once the movie comes out most of us will post our reviews here on The Dark Knight. Some of us might not come back to these boards for a while. There are many more things to discuss though: Title of the next film, will Chris Nolan be back, who are the villains in the next film, who will be playing the villains, and more. The hype is a never ending cycle. However, I will be a little bummed that we won't be hyping The Dark Knight anymore. I hope everybody enjoys this movie.

So, here is to everyone that gave us information and their thoughts on all aspects of The Dark Knight. THANK YOU!

Has it really been only 3 years:wow: It feels like it was only yesterday that I saw the joker card on the big screen. Time does fly.

I remember people freaking out when Ledger was announced as the Joker, a lot of people were wondering what was going on (even me). Then our fears were laid to rest once we saw the trailer and just how amazing a performance he had even if just for the limited time he was on, and it was just a trailer. I can't wait to see the whole thing.

LOL. You probably watched the Batman Begins DVD yesterday or something.

My favorite moment was probably in December I believe it was, when we got the first official trailer(bootleg quality). I was at work and a friend told me it was online. I immediately went to Hype. The voice came on and said "Evening....commissioner." ANd then the Jokers face popped up with that lip smack. I was honestly shocked for a second at how creepy and scary he looked. That was a good moment.

That's exactly the same moment I remember. It was weird, the bootleg quality had a certain extra-effectiveness to it because the contrast was higher and the joker's black makeup ran into his pupils, taking the light out of his eyes and making him that much more creepy. When I first saw that footage, I was blown away by the sight of what looked like a monster's face on screen. Then the monster's face actually moved . It was literally stunning.

I have so far kept myself spoiler free. Hell the only person that I know for certain is that is in the movie is Bale.

As I look back on the wait for this movie at first I was going through a stupid phase of comparing the new to Burton's way too much. Then I slapped myself in the face and was like, duh stupid, these are so much more faithful and I saw more and more the greatness of these new films.

Sure it's not word for word from the comics but much closer now.

And the movies are an amalgam of the best from the comics.

At first I hated the new suit and especially the Joker's look, then I saw more of him and Heath's performance and really got into it.
I soon grew to love everything about not just TDK but BB aswell.

I cannot wait for next Friday!!!

I was shaking from excitement when I first saw that.

bootleg trailer >>>>> all other trailers combined :o

Although I joined later than that, I remember being on vacation, and a friend called me up and said "It's happening." I, being a huge BB fan, asked "What's happening?"

He pointed me to a phone number. Then he said something was happening at Comic-con. Later he got back to me and said a video had come online, a teaser trailer. I was amazed, shocked, everything at once when I got home. Later, I joined with the hype, and started following the virals religiously when "Rory" appeared during the Halloween season.

I've been with you guys every step of the way, and I have to say everyone at the HYPE!, you guy rule!

I remember actually believing Joker was going to skateboard in the film. :csad:

Someone may have posted this already:

I remember when this fake but very good looking teaser poster emerged:

And I actually was dumb enough to fall for it.
