I liked Batman Begins, it was good movie but I think it biggest problem (apart from a weak dialogue/one-liners) is that it wasn't dark enough. I like when movie is dramatic, moving and to be so it needs to be intense. BB wasn't really, but TDK could be improved upon that. There's a lot of talk about how evil Joker will be, so I belive that Nolan won't dissapoint us.

Bad language - there must be some. In BB we hadn't any, and in PG-13 movie can be at least one "f*u*c*k", of course there are also words like s*h*i*t, son*of*a****** and d*i*c*k wchich were used in Burton movies. Why Batman can't say s*h*i*t when he's in danger? It looks like in TDK we will see a lot of gangsters, so there must be use some of aftermentioned words.

Violence - it was good in BB, so there's no need to any big improvement. Joker must be cruel.

Bloodshed - it is essential. When somebody get's shot, there must be blood.

Sex - of course I don't want any Bat-porn but it should be stated that Bruce Wayne is a playboy and had slept with a lot of women.

What do you think? Will we get a great, intense Batman movie?

Personally i don't think any of those things make for a good Batman movie,a good story, acting and well edited/structured action make for a good Batman movie IMO.

There's no bad language in the comics, so why in the movies? Batman is enjoyed by all ages, don't ruin it by putting in bad language just for the sake of it. Re the violence and bloodshed, this isn't Hostel.

BB was dark and intense enough for me, and there are tons of ways a Batman movie can be dark, intense and gritty without showing too much violence or bad language.

Those things (of course with great plot, direction etc.) could make a serious, touching Batman movie. Not a kiddie stuff like Forever, Marvel films and yes, in some part also Begins.

There are movie fans who don't read comics but still like Batman character, they are also important.

Blood, swearing and overly violent images don't make a movie serious or toughing they just make them R rated.

AGREED

No.

To a degree. I'd rather it's implied than shown, because it's far more effective that way and we won't beome desenitized. Joker musn't be overused

Bloodshed - it is essential. When somebody get's shot, there must be blood.

Umm, no.

Sex - of course I don't want any Bat-porn but it should be stated that Bruce Wayne is a playboy and had slept with a lot of women.

And once again, no. Bruce barely get's laid in the comics, and if he does it's becase he has a girlfriend. He only gives the impression that he shags lot's of models.

What do you think? Will we get a great, intense Batman movie?

Hopefully, but if you think sex, blood and swearwords make a great film then i feel very sorry for you. No offence, but i'm deliriously happy that there is a 99% chance Nolan doesn't think like you.

:(

As long as it isn't overblown, I don't see why not.

Making Bruce someone that pretends to get laid is horrendous. He's still a man, we all have our needs. :o

No, I didn't say that, direction, acting, plotting is essential but these things are important if we want serious movie, not some kid stuff (and that's how I always thought of Batman character).

They're really not though. None of those things you mentioned move the story, and yes, while the real-world can be very violent and gruesome, I don't think it's necessary to make a film realistic.

You just described every bland action movie ever released. I really don't want these things in TDK. There are very few instances in comics where these really exist - predominately they don't.

I do agree with the blood though. It sort of bothered me that we saw no blood when the Waynes were shot. A few corrupt cops can say a few minor swears (as they did in BB) but beyond that I think it's completely unneccessary in these movies. If sex is part of the plotline, there's no real reason to show it. Batman should be able to be watched by most people - R-rated Batman movies just slash the demographic in two.

I see no real reason to do it, from a story telling standpoint or a money making standpoint.

I'm the goddam Batman.

They just need to leave the one-liners and repetitive explainatory dialogue out.

LOL! Maybe they should change the movie to ALL STAR DARK KNIGHT RETURNS!

Maybe have him bully that kid fom the narrows around, kinapping him and keeping him in the cave having him eat rats and stuff, Now there's some intensity for you!

I know he did'nt just say weak dialogue

Hell yes. Take the kid gloves off. Who honestly wouldn't want a batman as dark and gritty as sin city, *****?

It won't happen but that'd be cool.

There's some Robin training.

No. He's Batman, the most disciplined man ever. He's beyond the "need".

Yes he has strong will... The will to act.

"That all there is to it." -- Bubbles

So apparently to be disciplined....MUST mean you have to refrain from sex.

No sex, man Bats will go crazy with no sex. Hell superman did it for most of his life, but thats superman, us straight humans need sex.

its freaking amazing how Batfanboys pretty much want another "Batman Returns" situation on their hands.

There's a reason BB made 205 million instead of....150 million. And it has to do with a little thing called accessibility.

Adding unnecessary amouunts of darkness and violence....is not accessible.

Question: Do people actually want this new franchise to make money, so that they can continue to make films?

As Morgan Freeman said to Brad Pitt in Se7en:
'For the first time ever, you and I are in total agreement'.
:cwink:

I think Bruce should be a lot more premiscuous. Not just in the movies, either.

Well, if by "Batman Returns," you mean a dark, deep movie that explores the insanity and similarities of both Batman and The Joker and the world they live in, then yes, I do want another Batman Returns. :o

However, blood and sex isn't really that neccesary, through the violence was probably there in Begins--we just couldn't f**king see it. :cmad:
