Are there fans that enjoy both of these films?
There are dozens of us! Dozens!

How do you know they wouldn't have let him burn the money? Plenty more where that came from, especially if Joker intended to take over the city like he said he was.
Furthermore Joker was also attracting crazies to his group, like Thomas Schiff the paranoid schizo, and that looney guy with voices in his head that Joker stitched a bomb into.
Gordon: "The Joker won"
Batman: "Gotham needs it's true hero and I let that murdering psychopath blow him half to hell"
You say Joker's thugs are working for money. Since they were with Joker in that scene, they were clearly being paid. So, what's a pile of money to them? I must ask for specifics about the sniff test. I disagree about the Batman. Give me a hard-won, almost pyrrhic victory over something that everyone walks out of with a grin on their face. Real life is scarcely like that; I'd rather heroes I can relate to.
While Bruce acknowledged the Joker's victory, verbally, showing it through the ending of TDK, and first act of TDKR always beats telling. I'll go ahead and let everyone know I enjoyed Iron Man 3, so I'm not here to engage an a fanboy's crusade.

This comparison really isn't fair. They are COMPETELY different types of movies that just happen to be in the same genre. Comparing them is like comparing Alien to Wall-E just because they're both sci-fi, there nothing alike. Both are fantastic, but for different reasons.
The question is 'A' or 'B', why add option 'C'?Spider-Man 2 is better than both IMO...
Avengers. But tdk was a great film. I prefer the more comic booky style of the avengers
Not even close, at all.
The Dark Knight, will be watched fifty years from now and still be just as good. The Avengers, is pretty good but very forgettable..
Spider-Man 2 is better than both IMO...

See, neither film would work with the other's aesthetic. You could not do a massive team movie as subdued as TDK was. And vice versa with Avengers.

That's simply unfair to TA. You can't hold it against the movie for being a PERFECT representation of the Avengers comics. That is what they are. Also, as fantastic as TDK is, and it REALLY is, it is not really that groundbreaking. Nolan admitted to taking things from Heat and the Bond films, and that's obvious in the movie. TDK is also "more of the same" just done exceptionally well.To me, TDK is just a superior movie. To be honest, i don´t even think it´s close. And the movies are so far apart from each other that i really don´t think they should be compared. TDK should be compared to movies like Casino Royale. The Avengers should be compared to something like...humm...Spider-Man?
The Avengers is the type of movie that i think i would have loved when i was 12 yro or something. As a Kid, i prefered movies with very simple and basic plots, that didn´t make me think too much, colourful characters and tons of action.
As i got older i started to give preference to movies with more complex and intelligent plots. I like stuff that makes me think and really intrigues me. I like to be surprised and emotionally challenged, and i didn´t get any of that from The Avengers. I found the movie to be a cool pop corn flick. But nothing more than that. To me it was "more of the same", but done a little better than usual. TDK, on the other hand, is ground breaking. Amazing movie in almost all aspects.
