Ok...here goes.
Im getting sick and tired of hearing all this damn negativity towards this movie. First of all, its a movie. Its not real. Its for entertainment, it is what it is. So you think it sucks, seeing a teaser and a few pics? Fine, good, dandy...dont go see it. Have something negative to say about it? Okay, keep it to yourself.
I love how people say this movie is cheesy, from only seeing a poster, some pics, and a teaser trailer...and at most an outdated first draft of a script. You people havent seen the movie yet...dont ruin the anticipation for the rest of us waiting patiently by saying all of your negative opinions. Here are the main things ive been reading that pisses me off...
Direct-to-DVD. Stop with this nonsense. Theres posters in the theatres, and a theatrical trailer, with the theatrical release date. Its being released to theatres, get over it.
Rays voice. Hes an actor, thats what they do for movies. The character is a gritty vigilante who has been through hell and back. Not to mention that the only two "punisher"-type voices weve heard so far was from Dolph and Jane. How are you to make judgements over his voice when weve only had 2 other actors attempt the same thing? To me Stevenson sounds more "Punisher" than the other two combined.
The neon lights. This is what was in the MAX comics. Lexi told us in the beginning this is what she was going for so you all should have expected this. If you dont like it, become a director and make a reboot with your name on it. Until then, leave it alone. This is what the director wanted.
The "look" (aka Rays outfit). Ok, this one is still a little outrageous in terms of how much i hear this all the time. The neck thing, i agree, is a little silly, but hey...you gotta protect the neck too. And as all of you say, i agree that i hope we see him in something other than the kevlar. But think of it this way...its a good thing he isnt in spandex with white gloves and boots.
The chandelier. This is not cliche. In the comics, the punisher is acrobatic. Simple as that. As far as realism goes, again, its a movie. Its supposed to be eyecatching. You want eyecatching unrealism thats still badass...check out the movie "equilibrium" with Christian Bale, one of my favorite movies. I bet you that the chandelier scene will be your favorite scene. How ironic that will be.
Steven Segal. Ok, he kind of looks like Steven Segal. But hearing this comparison over and over is ridiculous. I hate how one person made the comparason, and all the other haters followed. Ive noticed that people say "he looks like steven segal." because everyone else thinks he does.
I think this movie looks awesome. And any real punisher fan will agree. Because at the end of the day, its still going to just be a movie. And people need to learn that they are what they are. If you go in with no expectation, youll come out happy. Something i had to learn after seeing Spider-man 3. haha. I think Lexi will do The Punisher his real justice this time around. I can already tell there will be more "punisher" in this movie than weve seen in the last two movies combined. Well thats it for now...sorry if this is long, but im sure there are some people who agree with me. Either way, i had to speak up...it made me feel better, haha.
