I don't like her response at all. Tim Story, the Strause Brothers, and Mark Steven Johnson all cited "haters" as the real problem. All four of those directors were behind movies that were unspeakably bad. That we're seeing a repeat of that mentality worries me.

She's embracing haters though. She's not saying they're a problem. She's saying they're actually an asset.

Yeah, Mark Steven Johnson even replicated panels from the comic, it didn't make Daredevil any better (the director's cut was only slightly better than the theatrical).

The cast and the gore factor are probably the only positive things about this movie.

I felt like the cast of Daredevil was one of the biggest flaws of the movie, but that's just me.

The screenplay and lack of pace/tonal balance from the director was DD's problem.

Anyway, I just saw the teaser. I'm not a big Punisher fan, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I thought it looked cool. It looks more violent, dirty and to-the-point than the ridiculously cheesy and over the top 2004 film. And while Thomas Jane was a great Punisher I thought -- Ray Stevenson looks badass. This may be because I'm a HUGE fan of Rome. But I watched that trailer with low expectations and thought it looked like it could be a fun hardcore B-action movie (which the first was not) and Stevenson looks absolutely lost in that character. I cannot even recognize him. I could see this going TIH route more than the BB route, where it is okay and more satisfying to the fans than the original, but not amazing.

First off I hate the voice, ****ing hate it. It reminds me of Dolfs voice. The voice enough reminds me of '89 Punisher, which a piece of **** that should be forgotten forever.

The part where he's spinning around in the air hanging on the ceiling is corny as hell.

No wonder why Thomas Jane quit the project.

The parts i liked from the trailer was the quit shot of Jigsaw, and the part where Frank is facing off against SWAT and there's that explosion. THat's it.

I'm still going to see the movie but I'm going to brace myself for disappointment. Hopefully I'm wrong about it being a piece of crap, and surpasses '04 version (which I loved).

Just so everyone knows, that shot of him on the opposite wall of the SWAT team and the following explosion, is actually some thugs. If you look at the still shot you'll see some black gangsters. I've heard a couple people call them the SWAT team. Looks like it, but it's not.

One thing i definitely don't like is the costume.I hope he's not wearing it the entire movie.

I think this was discussed in another thread, but when it goes by so fast, they do look like SWAT, but then you stop it and you can see the stupid cock to the side hat one a few.

Sorry when I think of a character like the Punisher who is a military vet, I don't see them hanging upside down spinning and shooting randomly and as fast as possible. Kind of defeats the purpose of all that military training.:woot: The Punisher takes people out tactically and methodically not from random cross fire by spraying a bunch of bullets at the enemy and hoping one or two might hit. That just sends bullets into random directions possibly towards the people he is trying to protect. Sure he is a psyco vigilante but he dosn't want to kill innocents. Just my two cents...:whatever:

Plus, from a tactical standpoint he'd be kinda ****. If even one gomba is a crack shot he could possibly take one in the head spinning upside down.

Yeah. I like Stevenson in the role a lot, but the movie does look cheesy. But no more than the 2004 film which tried to be operatic and was just a bad, silly crime-soap.

But the spinning part makes no sense and while it worked in Boondock Saints, anyone who has seen 3000 Miles to Graceland (I'm sorry if you have, b/c that was awful) knows how that usually ends.

damn right, man! I'm dissappointed with the trailer but i'm still gonna give the movie a chance and hope Lexi doesnt have any more "creative" surprises for us. dont need to see The Punisher leading them gombas into a circus and killing 'em all while swinging from a trapeze. :cmad:

Still not sold on the body armor. Makes me wonder if he has that collar to keep himself from licking his stitches.

Maybe in the heat of the moment, the Punisher can "suck" his head in like a turtle, good for protection against fire, explosion etc etc.:cwink:

It's called goliath body armor. And it's probably the best body armor in the world. The soldiers in Iron Man had them on too (funvee scene.)

I agree with you with the new Punisher, but the '04 atleast has substance to it. This just looks like a ****y 80s film with modern filmmaking

You guys are getting all of this from a 1 minute teaser? Of course its going to be action film. It'll probably have more action than the '04 version. But I do remember in an interview, Stevenson said the movie is called "War Zone" for a reason. The conflict is both an internal and external one.

I don't remember the exact interview. Maybe it was the one from Wizard a couple months ago.

Man, I'm just happy he fires a gun before the last 10 minutes of the friggin movie...

Trailer looked cool but i hope that the action will be a bit more gritty and not overly stylized a la Equilibrium like we see in some shots.

The neon palette has grown on me after a few viewings and so has Stevenson's voice which sounded forced a first.

It's finally online in hires Quicktime at Yahoo.:yay:

Btw....which movie(s) is this trailer been shown with and what was the reaction like?

I was wondering if anyone has seen it at any movies too. I wouldn't mind going to see a movie just to see the trailer on the big screen.

It wasn't with TIH and I'm sure if it was with a movie right now, we'd all know. I did see the poster at the Regal theater in my area.

The poster is also at my theatre. I was a bit surprised... as we are not a big theatre by any means.
