Sci-Fi Terminator 1, 2, & 3: Review and Discussion Thread

It's not a shame, it's for the best. This franchise had 2 special movies, and then it became a cheap tag to sell to the mainstream public and way to sell action figures. Quality has become secondary to WB and the people involved, so there is no way Cameron would have the freedom to do what he wants with it even if he wanted to continue it. WB doesn't want R-rated tentpoles anymore :whatever:

Cameron had it right, this series ends with 2. He ended his story, and that's what a true artists knows: when to end the story. Sadly, artists don't work on these anymore, and the franchise has suffered greatly from it.

I thought during T2:3D he was talking of a sequel. But really I wonder how it all truly went down. Do to personal problems possibly, it just never came down to it. Which sucks.

Terminator mythos has so much more that it could have done, just sadly we had two idiot writers that cared nothing for the original material, and greedy producers at Halaycon *not WB mind you* Just like T3 it was purely an independent film done by C2/Intermedia.

There are so many great things that could have been done with T3 and T4, and though I agree it sucks we got such subpar films.

I could only hope for a Superman Returns type thing, in the sense some one re-films T3 and T4 in a different light. But probably not.

My point is, Terminator had a lot more to offer, and it very easily could of, but we had a crew that owned the Terminator franchise that just cared nothing for it except to make money on it.

And this is why they shouldn't have been made in the first place, IMO.

I gave it a review ways back. After the first two viewings I was some what nice and gave it a 70% on my third viewing I give it a 60% and was quite disappointed with it. Actually I liked T3 a tad better then it.

Nope, I believe it was the scene of Reese sawing the back of his shotgun off.

I actually liked T3, so you actually think Salvation is the worst one so far?

I haven't wrote my review yet, I'm lazy :o

But I liked TS. I give it a 7 out of 10. :up:

T3 was decent. But not great. The thing recently what hits me to like T3 more, is even though there was nothing but cloned material, it did not drive so far away from the source. Though it had a few mistakes, it at least stayed some what close to Cameron's vision.

But the more I saw TS the more I got angry on how odd the movie was, and filled with plot holes. I would say TS is the worst in the series.

T2=99%
T1=96%
T3=70%
TS=60%

IMO.

like 'em in this order... t2, t3, t1, then ts.

Finally saw it tonight and enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would, I would put it on par with T3, which I also thoroughly enjoyed.

T1 is still number 1 for me though.

hey everybody, looking to upgrade my terminator movies to blu ray, which versions are the best to get? i just want the original and t2, no real need for t3 (unless it came in a cheap box set). its seems the new skynet edition of t2 is probably the way to go. is there more than one version of the original?

you dont have much of a choice.So far theres only one version of T1 on bluray (but with another in production), and one version of T3. As for T2, DEFINTELY get the newly released T2 Skynet Edition

Not anytime soon. Van Ling (producer and cameron's personal friend and former crew member) is still working on the extras, and the transfer of the actual movie hasnt been done yet. Its gonna be supervised by Jim Cameron himself, but they gotta wait till he finishes Avatar first

^Its awesome isnt it, only movie to ever top it IMO (and even then its only slightly) is Aliens IMO.

As great as T2 was the first Terminator is still tops for me as well. The last two movies don't exist as far as I'm concerned.

My second batch of Terminator avvies have arrived :word: A few crossover ideas of mine are mixed in there too. Enjoy!
