Huh i'd say the dutch are very lucky. The leading cinema chain in Holland ( PathÉ) introduced a way of getitng more people in the cinema. You pay a fee of about 18 euros/month , get a card ( called the Pathe Unlimited Card) and can watch as many movies as you want in a month exluding IMAX and 3-D movies. But even then it's cheap as heel because with that Pathe Unlimited Card you still can get a discount on buying IMAX tickets.
IMAX tickets in holland cost 15 euros but with the card you'll only have to pay 5 euros :D

Frikkin great :woot:

But yeah buying dvd's is a damn nightmare :csad:

That's great... I'm from Spain but living in Austria. Well... in Spain we have a Audience Day on wednesday where it costs "only" 6 euro... the rest of the time it costs 10. In Austria it's even worse... no special day, and only 10% off possibility... with a student card. From a 13 euro admission price. Freaking nightmare...:cmad:

I wonder if Common will have 3 lines in the sequel, or 4 lines

Exactly

Smaller budget & better writers. Make T5 more of a horror movie like T1

Exactly....lowering the budget of a film is always a good way to try and make sure a film makes a profit.

Why do all these crappy comedies and piece of crap "horror" films always get made? Becuase they are cheap and their is a gullible audience that will pay to see Will Ferrell run around in his underwear, be naked, dress as a 70's hoops player, act like a jacka$$ news reporter and pay to see a crazy guy killing teenagers.

Hey....how about that idea.....have Will Ferrell play a crazed maniac who acts like a jacka$$ who kills teenagers? Keep the budget around 40 million and there you go!

The greedy overpaid studio execs know they want to do it if they want to make serious money! LOL Or maybe they would be afraid it would hurt Ferrells image?

Better yet, Will Ferrell for TS2! :funny:

There ya go and have Stiller be a Terminator and Ferrell the leader of the resistance.....then the naive audience will suck that crap up and pay to watch fools act like fools and the budget will be 30-40 million and it will make 60 million opening weekend and it could be the stupidest movie ever, but critics and people in here will say it is a "success"??

Go figure.....

^If it were a family comedy that would make a killing at the BO. :cwink:

I could picture Ferrell doing some kind of spoof for one of the upcoming awards shows where he's John Connor and there's a closeup on his face and he says the "devil's hands have been busy" line.

See how easy it is to come up with a lame a$$ idea for a film and make it on the cheap just to make a quick and easy profit?

Goes to show you how whacked Hollyweird and the overall general movie audience is.

Or Jack Black cast as Green Lantern! No, the studio would never think of that.....

I was joking?

It hitting the #1 spot yesterday doesn't change the fact that it's a serious box-office under-performer. Nor does it change the fact that we won't be getting a sequel.

I think he knows you were joking.

I mean, he did respond with a joke of his own...

I can't tell. He seems to really think a sequel is a comin...

No offense.

I don't think a sequel us out of the question at this point. I mean, an opening like this had to somewhat be expected by the studios/producers/filmmakers seeing as they put it up against Night at the Musuem 2, which was obviously going to be a huge factor at the box office. The two movies were counter programming for each other -- a kiddie romp with broad appeal that's fun for parents AND kids, and a dreary, post-apocalyptic action picture. More often than not, the kiddie movie will win the weekend.

Regardless of coming in second place, the $53.8 million 3-day tally for TS is still the best opening of the series (beating T3's $44 million) and Salvation's 5-day gross was $67.2 million (it made $13.4 million on Thursday). This just doesn't seem that bad to me, and the fact that Salvation actually moved ahead of NATM2 on Tuesday seems to be somewhat of a good sign, especially because that rarely ever happens. (It also seems like a bad sign for NATM2...)

This means that TS will move past the $100 million mark by this weekend no matter what, and is on track for AT LEAST a $150-180 million domestic gross, and it's going to kill overseas and on DVD/Blu Ray.

Look to Batman Begins for a similar example. Like TS, BB was a reboot and had a very modest opening weekend gross, but had great legs, a sequel was greenlit, and it wound up being an improvement over the original and one of the movie successful movies ever made! Now, I realize that TS will NOT have the legs that BB had, nor is it likely that a sequel will be as good as TDK, but I'm just saying that a sequel is still a possibility.

There's always a possibility, that's all I'm saying also.

haha....I'm still amazed that this film had a shooting budget of 200 million with FX.

After I saw the film it looked like maybe 125 million budgeted film....but 200 million. What was Alan Horn and Robinov smoking there?

Actually, it won't be crossing $100 million by the end of this weekend - given its low numbers last week and the mixed-to-negative reviews/word-of-mouth.

The final domestic gross will be closer to $125-$130 million. No way in Hell, it's hitting anywhere close to $180 million after that opening weekend.

125? With CG that good?

I agree 200 seems like a bit much but it's easily 150 at the least.

TS 3-day gross (Fri-Sun) is 42 M. T3 still has the best opening of the series. That's also not counting inflation.
