Unfortunately we have to wait til January, but I'll take it :woot:

You and I both know that when the Jay Leno Show and/or NBC's newer shows crash & burn the network will bump the premiere for certain shows up by a month or two. And I personally think we'll see Chuck back by the end of this year.

Exact same thing happened with Law & Order this past season. It was originally supposed to have its season premiere in January 2009, but shows like Knight Rider were such flops that L&O was quickly given a November 2008 premiere instead.

I'm really hoping that is the case. After all, it could also mean more than 13 episodes. At the same time though, Leno is going to be so cheap to produce, a few million viewers a night can completely justify it to advertisers. :(

It's at times like this when I wish Cameron would've gone with the "Judgment Day never happened and John ended up becoming a Senator" ending for T2.
they would still do a sequel :hehe:

They should have never opened against NATM. One of the movies should have moved. Both would have benefited from separate weekends, I think.

Oh, I think there'll end up being around 16-18 episodes of Chuck done for this season when everything is said and done.

The network has already publicly acknowledged a number of shows that are being forced to reduced orders this season might end up with more episodes being produced - aka "We're already aware that our Fall line-up will suck and fail for the up-tenth time now!"

i think the problem is that even FOX thought that they would lose against TS hahahahha :hehe:

Oh Leno will will get his fare share of viewers.

Leno isn't that bad. I think he's got a built-in audience with the older folks. My parents like him better than Letterman and were glad to hear he's moving up an earlier time slot.

I like Leno better than Letterman. The earlier time for his show will work wonders for his demographic.

Leno's humor has gotten..generic as of late. I can't wait for Conan.

Leno bugs be with his sly remarks and then that damn jazz thing kicks in each time he does it. And then after he says it he puts one hand in his pocket and the other he holds up and waves and puts his head down saying, "Nah, nah, no." during that sound after the joke. it annoys the hell out of me.

The NBC fall line up is atrocious. Its to be expected though. To quote Conan O'Brien, "And the guy who passed on Lost, was promoted instead of tossed and now the Peacock is taking it from both ends!"

I don't know. Leno's main demographic is the reason CBS pulls in 15 million viewers a night. CBS caters to the older audiences. I can't see them giving up their favorite shows for Jay Leno. I think after the first few episodes, Leno will average out at 2 to 3 million viewers per night. But the budget will be so small, it should work.

That is the mindset of every top dog in entertainment..produce something on the cheap, so that you have nowhere to go but up as far as ratings or profits.

is the older audience into shows like CSI or whatever comes on ABC at 10pm? they might follow him. who knows. if they're up at 11:30pm though, they will certainly follow Letterman. I can't see them liking Conan's humor.

Older demographics love CSI, NCIS, really anything that has initials in the title. Older woman love Greys Anatomy. Older people like Lost. I just don't see older audiences leaving their favorite shows for Leno. I agree, Letterman is about to become the rating king. Conan would've been perfect for this transition four years ago when he was at the height of his popularity with younger audiences. Now he is going to be competing directly with Stephen Colbert.

Ironically, their Friday night lineup will probably do well with Law & Order and Southland. What with both shows most being aimed at older audiences...who usually do stay at home on Friday nights.

it's going to be interesting to see who comes up on top this fall

There won't be a T5, I predict what we will eventually get(and i'd say in 5-7 years because Hollywood seems to be creatively bankrupt) is a remake of the first film. HORRIBLE idea, I know but I think that's where we are ultimately heading. I called it here first.

It should lead to a very interesting battle between those two shows and Ghost Whisperer and Medium (which CBS, of course bought and is pairing with GW). Those shows are also very popular with older demoes.

I can't help but think NBC is going to pull Southland before fall sweeps. I think NBC almost instantly regretted announcings its renewal so quickly. It had a huge premiere (which is something NBC hadn't seen all season) so they quickly announced its renewal, then it tanked and now they will air a few episodes to save face and then shut it down.

I would disagree IF James Cameron retained any of the rights to the franchise. Unfortunately, Linda Hamilton got the rights in the divorce and promptly auctioned them off, so yeah, it'll happen.

Something tells me Ghost Whisperer is on its last legs while Medium will surge on CBS imo. Either way, Law & Order will (yet again) outlast all of its rival Friday night shows in the long-run.

wow, I didn't know he was married to Linda Hamilton. I just saw his imdb page and he's been through 5 marriages! Damn...

That's because it takes him 10 years to complete anything and they all got sick of it

I definitely agree there. Law and Order is untouchable. Its like a cockroach. It always survives.

:hehe:

My honest guess is because of his reported temper. The man is apparently a notorious prick.
