QTF.Again, we're talking about a franchise with now two insanely expensive films under-performed and a television series that flopped. The international box-office isn't going to save it unlike with T3 because Arnold is still a mega-star in the foriegn territories.
The DVD/Blu-Rays will do solid business, but it won't make a difference.
I doubt it. Cameron would've put both Bale and the DP in their places. Apparently Cameron's temper makes Bale look like a girl scout.
I miss your old avatar.I think the quality of the film had an impact on the film. The rant was just publicity and got people talking about the movie. I doubt anyone would not go see it because of the rant. If someone wasn't going to see this movie, it would be because it either didn't interest him/her or they had something better to do...

I miss your old avatar.![]()
The Prison Mike one. I mean ThuderCats is awesome and all but Prison Mike made me laugh.the Prison Mike one or the bearded Jackface?

if someone records it and puts it online then I'll see it. I wouldn't want to be the one yelled at by them though...Imagine if they tag team it and take on some poor SOB?![]()

The simple fact that you think that a 200 million dollar film makes a 40 million dollar prophet if it makes 240mil worldwide shows just how ignorant you are when it comes to this subject.Yes... if it gets 120 million in domestic plus another 120 with all those combined I guess the producers are going to be veeery dissapointed with 40 million dollars profit...
Have you guys forgotten that Hollywood is still about getting one dollar more than the budget costs no matter how you get it and how sh***y your film is?
Ironic considering Cameron supposedly wanted Bale for Jack until Fox/Paramount said he could only have one British actor as one of the two leads...and there was no way in Hell he was going to pass up casting Winslet.
Christian Bale auditioned for the role of Jack Dawson, but was turned down because James Cameron didn't want two British actors playing the lead roles of two Americans.

You apparently don't realize that the movie theaters that show the movies get a significant cut of movie grosses. You're probably looking at a third going to theater owners. And marketing costs aren't included in the production budget. TS probably has to gross $300 million WW to turn a profit.
There's a concept of "return on investment" that you might want to brush up on too. If you spend over $200 million to turn a $1 profit, the reward doesn't justify the risk.
You pulled that 40mil number out of your ass.

I understood exactly what you wrote I just think that it is beyond stupid. You don't know what a supposition is? It's when you suppose things... so yes... it was pulled from my ass... my point was to say... let's say it brings them 40 million profit... do you really think this thing is dead? Again... check your reading...
The Superman Returns fans said the same thing after that movie opened to disappointing numbers.I love that avatar.
International box office will help and another three weeks in theatre .

I said it in another thread and I'll say it in this one. OVERSEAS NUMBERS DON'T MEAN ANYTHING TO THE STUDIOS. They love the money but if it's not a flat out hit with american audiences, it's deemed a failure and there will not be a sequel. That is a fact, that's not americans thinking we are more important then we are.
I'm going to try to find the Chuck Roven article in the NY times speaking about this little fact and how studios see the DVD market as the gold mine right now instead of BO... as of today it's nearly impossible for a studio to lose money on a movie...
