Make it appear? I'm sorry what? No, only living tissue passes, not "stuff that looks like living tissue".

hey, I'm not the one who wrote the movie. But that IS what took place, I wouldn't call the tissue surrounding him when he was in human form "metal looking" so yea, there you go

and machines can be fooled (humans can be fooled) ****, ANYTHING can be fooled

non of this is that far fetched

not really, the T1000 can make it appear as though it has living tissue surrounding it. Probably just enough to bypass the time traveling device, which makes enough sense.

Like I said, I enjoyed Salvation but it seems like McG is purposely trying to ignore "the little details" Cameron created because neither he nor his writing team are smart enough to incorporate them into HIS trilogy.

Almost like whenever they get stumped during the writing process they just put their brains on "ignore" and continue writing without trying to resolve or make sense of what's stumping them. They're literally not smart enough to understand Cameron's work

and it's a shame

Its not inconcievable that Skynet wrapped a layer of living tissue around the T-1000 so it could go through the machine.

I think it should get to around $230m internationally and $355m worldwide.

so what's the way then? How did Skynet figure out how to bypass the "only living tissue can be sent through time" aspect? If either you or McG can explain this, I'll give the sequel a shot (if it gets made)

if not, then that just proves dude is picking crap from his ass

I thought the makers of Salvation made it self explanatory that "this is not the future" Sarah Connor warned us about. Obviously the future has changed.

It opens in Mexico on 31st July. T3 took about $9m in Mexico. I'd guess it will end up with around $240m-$250m internationally.

well that's true, and I've used that as back up for an argument in the past as well but the whole "oh, Skynet found a way to send back machines without living tissue" excuse sounds.....well.......like an excuse and not an explanation. That's just sad

I was able to look past the whole "skynet knew who Reese and Connor were due to an altered past = altered future scenerio" but you can't apply that to EVERYTHING otherwise it starts to come off as a blatant excuse for BOTH lazy writing and not understanding the material.

all I know is that if I were McG and I "myself" wanted a Hunter Killer to go back through time THAT BAD, I would make sure there was a logical explanation that fit with what Cameron had established. If either myself or my writing team have problems coming up with one, then it doesn't happen, POINT.....FREAKING....BLANK

come on. "Skynet found a way" just sounds so.....OBVIOUS

Look, I agree. If McG can't come up with an actual reason "why" then he's dead in the water. But a changed future is still a better excuse than many.

The problem is, he explained nothing in Terminator Salvation. And he even omitted the scene where Connor admits the future has changed.

The only reason I'm against the idea of H-Ks going back in time is it's both backtracking and retreading plot points from three previous Terminator movies. Nobody wants time travel to come into the equation in the future war unless Kyle is about to be sent back. McG needs to focus on the war.

As much as Terminator Salvation felt like a war film, it really wasn't about the war in general. It was about Marcus Wright, Kyle Reese, and the production of the prototype infiltrator.

Make it exclusively a war film this time. That's a pretty big conflict, now that Connor is leader of the resistance.

I thought it was Mexico but I wasn't sure enough to post it.

So if T3 took in 9 mil I assume this movie will make less in total. I'm thinking your guess will be correct. 240-250mil is nothing to sneeze at but it's still about 30 to 40mil less than the last movie that came out 6 years ago.

The franchise is obviously going down everwhere...not the greatest trend to have unless your previous films made a s**tload more.

Time for an update?
Terminator Salvation has now made a cume of $237.9m (including non-SPRI territories), with a new $400,000 this weekend. The Christian Bale-starrer expands into Mexico this weekend.
Screendaily
The domestic total probably passed $124m over the weekend, so that's a worldwide total of $362. Add $10m for Mexico.
It's surprising how well this has done after a not-so-great start. That's not far behind Star Trek.

Your math seems a bit dodgy there. 124 + 238 = 362, not 342.

Or am I missing something?

Dodgy typing and then having mis-typed I carried on with the wrong number. Well-spotted.

So it should end up even closer to Star Trek.

Still think its not enough to warrant a sequel, DVD sales need to be stellar now for any chance IMO.

It would be crazy if we got a sequel even after all the negativity surrounding its US release.

Quit hating, I want my sequel. :o

When it is all said and done internationally and then Blue Ray and DVD sales.......Salvation will be making a decent profit.

such a decent profit that the sequel will be out in 2 years right?

I appreciate your sarcasm because I had the exact same response to that post.

Most movies seem to make some profit because of T.V rights and DVD sales that doesn't mean that all movies are going to get a sequel.

The comparision to Star Trek is pretty useless as Star Trek was actually well liked and it didn't make less than the last Star Trek movie. If the last Terminator had made a say 600mil worldwide then the drop wouldn't matter as much but the last one didn't, so it does.

It's going to be sad when the fans of Salvation realize that a sequel isn't coming. And I'm not trying to be snarky when I say that.

I hope not.
You don't have to hope, it aint happening.

Christain Bale knows that the movie wasn't very good (and wasn't good for his career) and will find a way out of whatever contract he signed so they will have to look for another actor. The guys who own the franchise now will have to get on hands and knees and beg for another 200mil to a movie that most didn't care enough to see and, those that did, found it to be disappointing.

As I've said time and time again, another Terminator movie will probably come out but it won't be for a long time and it won't be a sequel to Salvation.

I for one do hope we get a sequel in 2 or 3 years time.

But that's just me.
