What I really wanna know is who reported the guy? For some reason he seems to think it was me. The irony of that is just so funny to me cause I've exchanged more heated words than that with a few and I've never reported anyone! I personally think that nothing said on these boards is worth reporting to a mod unless you are a totally over-sensitive puss! I PM'd CLee to find out who banned him but haven't heard anything yet. Anyone want to claim responsibility? I've seen plenty of other posts where he calls people pricks and such. Some people probably don't care too much for that. Go figure. I think people have the right to express their opinions on here without being called names by people who have their own opinions which are no more/less valid than anyone's. But if someone DOES namecall, it just looks bad on them. My personal feeling is that NO ONE reported him. The mods can see some stuff on here with their own eyes without having to have it reported to them and make their own judgments.

As has already been stated, Howard got the part so let's hope for the best. I was merely stating my opinion that he isn't right for the part as have others on here, not trying to start a campaign to have him replaced. He is a generic actor, again IMO. Downey ain't the best choice for Stark but I can at least point out SOME traits he does have - he IS charming, he IS humorous, he DOES have a devil-may-care attitude to life, he IS an addict, he probably IS a millionaire, and he IS a very versatile actor - that he could bring into a faithful adaption of the character.


If nothing else, at least we got the thread back on the subject of the Ironman movie!

Not sure if this one is real. There are several other fan sites but this one looks the most legit. The last one I posted was real ( for a FF cast member) but I removed it for privacy reasons. This one is clearly meant for fans so I have no problem linking it here...and the other fan sites responded to me and pointed me to this one. Again this one isn't verified but time will tell. He told me he was the real deal but it could be BS. I asked him to post a blog re: Iron Man. We'll see. If it's a fake his site will be removed. If enough of us prod around we'll find out. I'm happy as clam, just because I'll see a live action I.M. t:

Genuinly (sp) I'm not at odds w/ that-I don't think the War Machine armor is fabricated w/ such a large stomach area, but Hey, he's a damn good actor and WILL win a supporting actor Oscar this year, or at least be nominated. Don't know if your placating me yet...but your thinkin. A little old maybe for a contempoary war buddie to Tony, but Downey's no spring chick.

No. I have nothing against Howard, at all. He just doesn't fit my mental picture of Rhodey any more than Bill Nunn fit my mental picture of Robbie, or any of the others I mentioned before.

I'm hip, BUT Which one of Howards many film character credits most resemble James Rhodes, cause It I get the feeling he's it.

His small part in Dead Pres is my favorite (KIRBY MAIN-YOU KNOW HE TO GOT DAMN LITTLE TO BE IN HERE MAIN), but Howard routinley plays undesierables, I guess that's why they call it acting-and I still haven't seen Crash yet, isn't he a cop in that?

OTS- Rhodey's had the fro, the box, the goatee-The Mandarin almost made him cut his own head off. That brotha's been through more paces...dare It: than the ruler of Wakanda!-just screwin w/ ya.

He wasn't a cop in Crash; he was a TV producer who had an unfortunate run-in w/a racist cop.
And I'm not denying that he's a great & versatile actor. But Rhodes has always had a more rugged look, IMO-I think of a young Keith David.
Howard is, IMO, too much of a "pretty boy". Too "high yellow" for the part.

He'll do fine, his appearance will change for the camera. Yea he is pretty and Rhodes looks more like Wesley Snipes should play him but well wait and see.

By the way Surf I love your quote in the sig from Batman Returns, what a great line in that movie. Christopher Walken was perfect as Max Shreck.
