Infinity War "That Up There... That's The Endgame." - The Robert Downey, Jr. / Iron Man Thread

I am not huge on the new armor myself, either. Sort of almost makes him not Iron Man anymore to some extent. I get it's still technically an armor and the armor was always based on super science, but it feels like a bit too much. Granted, they wanted an armor where Thanos couldn't one shot him dead, and I get that. Still, not my favorite armor.

Cap's unprotected head took a right straight from Thanos and all he got was a bloodied cut. i'm pretty sure even IM's older armors would do just fine. :)

but yeah, I hope they'd tone back on his armor for Avengers 4

After looking for all the possible youtube reactions to Tony suiting up, it just occurred to me that the music bit playing as he's suiting up is the exact same from Avengers 1 when he suited up in the Mark VII.

to be honest, he was really starting to show his age in this film. I think he's done and hope A4 is his swan song

This was one of RDJ’s top performances alongside the first Iron Man and CW. Plus his suit had the best variety of cool abilities I’ve seen so far.

Either way I think Tony will go out in a blaze of glory in Avengers 4 especially if RDJ is truly done and won't return after A4 then yeah A4 like you I think will also be his swansong

i'm in the minority here that doesn't really dig this new armor. as some posters here have mentioned, its now basically creating things out of thin air, which personally, ruins the immersion a bit. wish they have stuck with those older model. felt its kinda similar to the captain america FA suit vs the avengers 1 thing again (visually)

..now Robert Downey Jr's performance is another story. superb
What was missing that we saw gadgets instead of those little touches of stabilizing retro rockets firing and flaps and slants deploying and retracting in flight which was much cooler looking to me than a red and gold Green Lantern

I was cool to see the bleeding edge Armor in work.

Speaking of the armor, what Tony wore in this was the Mark 50. Last time we saw him in Homecoming, he had the Mark 47. I guess we can assume the new and improved Hulkbuster that Banner was playing around in was either the Mark 48 or 49, but what's the missing armor? It's strange for them to skip one. Even though a bunch of them weren't seen on screen in Iron Man 3, they were still all accounted for.

Such a shame we can't see the bleeding edge armour in more films. It really is amazing.

His suit was the best thing in this film, good lord I hope they don't tone it back.

“Its Nano-Tech, ya like it?” No, I LOVE THIS ARMOR! The new Mark 50 was one the best highlights of the film for me.

I think they needed something very advanced knowing he’d be traveling the galaxy fighting aliens.

I hope they delve into this tech more BTS on the blu-ray. I’m curious to know how many configurations can the suite make.

And is the M50 making shapes and forms from Tonys’ thoughts? What’s powering all those different transformations????

Also loved when Iron man turned his arms into those hydraulic pump pistons ah la G1 Rumble! So cool!!
