Infinity War "That Up There... That's The Endgame." - The Robert Downey, Jr. / Iron Man Thread

Anyone up for a house party?

Is that Infinity War concept art or from AoU?
Well if they showed it in that Infinity War video I'm guessing Infinity War. It makes sense after all. The Avengers right now are seriously understaffed. War Machine is on rehab and most of the others are fugitives. Supplementing through artificial means may be a necessity.

I'm wondering if this is a concept for a new "Iron Legion" or if that's the new Mark XLVII.
As it stands in the concept art it seems to be just a repainted Mk III with slightly different arms and thighs. What feels a little weird is that the color scheme seems a little too elaborate to be just a stand in. The throwback to the Mk XLII and even more so to the earlier Iron Man designs would be a peculiar choice.

I'm sick of the iron legion. If Tony can remotely control his suits, then he never has to put himself in harm's way.

It's definitely not going to be the Fantastic Four. Oscorp maybe.

The Iron Legion can't compare to Stark and his natural instincts in the suit in the heat of battle.

Im wondering if Tony sells Avengers tower whos moving in...
Fantastic Four
Thunderbolts

People need to let the dream that the FF are secretly in this movie go.

I can see him dying

It would be better if they switched things up in the MCU and kill off someone comics fans won't suspect. Kill the Hulk and leave him dead for a while, for instance. No one would see that coming.

No. :o

Wonder how things are going to end for the main man at the end of Avengers 4. And how long before he get to meet Cap again.

Hopefully Tony does activate that protocol again. Now would be the time.

Im also hoping his armor is like the new armor that comes out of his skin and forms around his body like a symbiote.

Oscorp buying it would be a fantastic start. The F4 couldnt not only because Marvel doesnt yet have the rights but because the Baxter Building is a unique image and needs to be a thing in the MCU as well.

Yeah how long before he comes face to face with Steve and Bucky both? Given what happened in Civil War there isn't and shouldn't be no love lost there

Tony Stark is in constant danger, because he's his own worst enemy.

The armor is extremely streamlined. There is some Disney commercial that shows it quite well, and I was actually thinking about it being the nanotech that forms on top of his skin. The armor hugs his body so closely, it wouldn't surprise me.

Iron Man 1 armor is the best one

I haven't liked most of the armors after it. Looks better than this

Yep, the Favreau movie suits still reign supreme. And not just the design, but the execution, the manner in which they brought them to life. Just feels pretty lazy & "do it in post!" these days.

That's because Stan Winston designed the first Iron Man suits, if I'm not wrong? Stan Winston was a legend.

I agree. The suits have been kind of lacking starting with Iron Man 3. There were a few good designs here and there (some of the Iron Legion, Hulkbuster, the Mk 46 from Civil War) but they don't have the weight that the first seven or so armors had. The one I've disliked the most out of the recent armors was the Mk 45 from Age of Ultron. It just looks like the CGI is unfinished, but I guess in a film with two other armors, one of which being the Hulkbuster, as well as multiple variations of Ultron and not to mention one CGI Hulk, one of them was bound to get the short end of the stick.

I feel like in AOU and CW, his suit has looked pretty bad cgi wise, especially in scenes where he has his helmet off. He has floating head syndrome
