yeah, there are no projectile or ranged based characters so far and they need to have at least 2

nope, but it does add diversity and round the team out. I dont want to read a team with all melee fighters

And there ARE different variations of melee fighters.

But by all means, if the make-up of mutant powers destroy the likability of the book, rather than, you know, how the writer writes it, then don't read it.

Just be like JustABill and keep complaining.

That Silvestri image also popped in my head soon after I saw the X-Force teaser. I can see them including Caliban and Hep also...the lineup as it stands in the teasers seems a little too thin. I, too, also don't know how I feel about the one dimensional lineup. They better make the characters really interesting because their abilities definitely don't go a long way in diversifying them.

Well, they do. Everyone's going into this saying "OH MY GODZ, IT'S ALL MELEE ALL THEY ARE GOING TO DO IS HIT THINGS AND WE WILL NOT SEE BIG EXPLOZONZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

But seriously, if we look at X-Force as a militaristic black ops team (which the costumes do have the tone and feel of), it's not just melee characters. Not JUST melee.

The brawlers are going to be, of course, Warpath and Caliban, simply because of their sizes. And possibly Wolverine, assuming he's in the book that much, which the interview makes me think not so much. Warpath's more of a brawler, or at least made for more risky business than Caliban is, because of his increased durability/invincibility.

Sure, Hepzibah, Wolfsbane, and X-23 are all melee-centric, but Hepzibah and Wolfsbane are more feral than 23 is, 23 has more assassin training than either of them do, and as a third thing, all three of them can probably rate pretty highly in terms of stealth.

See? Not just "OH LOOK MORE FISTICUFFS LOL"

There's a gazillion things that these characters could do in any given battle or scenario, but no, people just whine about how there's no diversity because they don't have eye beams or sonic screams.

oh I'll still read it bc I like the characters involved with the exception of Wolverine. That doesnt mean I like the mix thats chosen. I hope they add other characters that arent melee based to switch things up bc I can see battles being boring with characters all having the same means of attack
