Comics The '07 X-Event: Endangered Species, Messiah Complex, & Disassembled

Just look at Hotaru's link and imagine my voice as you look at the images.

You can see the thumbnails in Hotaru's link, but it seems like the blown up shots are gone. So you can't really see any detail.

Who's kicking Gambit's ass? Or do I even have to ask? :whatever:

Wolverine.

Of course it's Wolverine...

Though I suppose among active (and still standing) X-Men, Wolverine had a more developed relationship with Gambit than anyone else. So for him to pinpoint Gambit makes sense.

I'd love to see Gambit and Bishop fight, based on their odd history.

Our previous two days of "Messiah Complex" coverage have focused on the concept of an event. The word is loaded with meaning for a variety of fans, particularly with the industry being obsessed with them. X-Men events in particular carry a certain stigma, since the franchise was saddled with yearly crossovers, many of which didn't stand up to the test of time.

So today we had an interesting choice. We had a ton of weekly reviews to do, an anime channel to maintain, previews to sort out and publish and... whew! What to do? Marvel Editor Nick Lowe had an idea about that. Read on to discover our solution. We think you'll like it. Welcome to Day Three of our "Messiah Complex" feature!

Day Three
A Killer Art Team

We'll admit it... we bit off a bit more than we should have today. Reviewing and processing over thirty titles (not to mention even more individual reviews) is a daunting task. Add in some previews and... wow, what a day. But we also promised you more of our "Messiah Complex" coverage, continuing our reasoning as to why this event is going to kick so much ass.

But we also have to get back to our reviews... what to do... Oh! We know! You've heard how pictures are worth a thousand words. If we get editor Nick Lowe to talk about the art and then show off about a half dozen pictures, will that be good enough? We thought so. The following pieces of art are (clearly) unfinished and are from several upcoming titles including Uncanny X-Men #492, X-Factor #25, X-Men #205 and New X-Men #41.

The crazy thing is we still have plenty more spectacular images to share with you in the days ahead.

So first let's have Lowe say a few words about the artists helming "Messiah Complex". Take it away, Nick!

"First, we were amazingly lucky to get Marc Silvestri to sign on. He's in the top 5 of best X-Men artists ever! When he agreed to draw the one-shot, we jumped for joy! And he brought his A-Game. My favorite moments are some Archangel panels and a few of the Marauders bits that he drew.

Billy Tan has been rocking so hard on Uncanny X-Men and his art has grown with every page he drew. I can say, without a doubt, that the work he's done on the crossover issues of Uncanny are the best his art has ever looked. He is the king of the action for this crossover.

Scot Eaton has quickly become the X-Office MVP. From knocking Endangered Species out of the park to the work he's doing on X-Factor, Scot has also jumped into the stratosphere. People are going to be really surprised with his work on this book.

Humberto Ramos has been alternating art chores on X-Men for the last year, so it was a no-brainer to slide him over to the New X-Menissues of Messiah Complex. The kids play big roles throughout the crossover, but the most meaningful parts are in the New X-Men issues, so it was a great fit as no one draws better kids than Humberto Ramos.

Chris Bachalo is another X-Men alumnus. He's had several landmark runs on X-Books. No one is like Chris Bachalo. No one captures the characters, no one gets the scope and no one brings the cool like Chris Bachalo.

But enough of the talk, look at some art!"

Thanks, Nick! Let's get to it, shall we?

I hope we get to see Iceman having a big role in this event, i hope hes not dumped on the sidelines. After his prominant role in Blinded By The Light it would be a kick in the Bollocks for Bobbys fans if he was...:csad:

I get the feeling Cyke isn't even in Adjectiveless 205's battle. Oh well.
It looks like He, Emma, Beast, Bishop, and Probably Iceman aren't. I think Emma's in her astral form or something.

But we do get a Wolverine/Gambit fight.

Oh yeah, that scan of Wolvie and Nightcrawler trashed in that one scan is probably the result.

Let's hope Gambit is the main reason why Logan ends up like he does. :D

Don't think the pics you're referring to are from 205...

Then they'd be from the issue right after. It had Logan(who looked like Beast) and Kurt sprawled in the snow.

Oh, and assuming Cyke isn't anywhere near the battle in #205, I will most certainly bust my gut laughing as the folks in the Storm thread start crying or something. :D

Yep, thats Bachalo art. You can tell because it looks like it's got herpes.

They are probably doing something a lot more important than getting their ass kicked.

Though no one has mentioned Bobby will have a role in MC or not, I doubt it will be a big one.

Yeah, sitting around in his office, chatting and drinking whatever's in that mug. :woot:

Well, he'll whine about Cyke being too tough on Roguey. So it would mean either defecting or taking a back-seat, eh.

And watching the team get pwned with Emma's telepathy, enjoying the show.

If he defects, then the boy really needs to get his ass whipped.

Too bad the x-brats weren't in that battle pic, eh.

Can't wait for their big 'we can kick ass without you oppressive adults around' moment and then get pwned. :woot:

Bobby won't defect. Thus the backseat thingy kicking in.

And there won't be any ass whipping since Sam's in a coma.

Well, if the pic of Hellion with Deathstrike's claws through his chest are anything to go by....

Ironically, Julian is one of the few x-brats who don't annoy me too much.

*Glares at Anole, Rockslide and Pixie.*

Oh, and I *did* say I couldn't WAIT for it. As in 'it soooo will happen' :D

But I saw a lot of people complain that Julian's too emo, though none of these kids really mean anything to me.

Maybe if someone whipped Bobby's ass Sam would bolt right up, it's called 'shock treatment'.:yay:

He kinda is. Still, it beats Anole/Rockslide being obnoxious morons and Pixie being an actual f****n fairy.

What, is that a Bobby/Hank joke? :D
