Oh well, that brief illusion that Amazon taking over Bond doesn't suck *** is over.

Oh I'd love to see a McQuarrie Bond film, but I suspect it would be too close a thing to the Mission Impossible franchise for him to want to jump into it. But hopefully I'm wrong.

Still pinning some hopes on Nolan.

I knew the Alfonso thing would turn out to be too good to be true. And if they can't get him on board with what they're doing, they sure as hell wouldn't get Nolan. Marvel director sounds more in the ballpark of what they'll end up with tbh. A "name" who's also a yes man.

Do they even have a "Kevin Feige" like figure to run this? And how would that even be much different from what we got given the level of control the Broccoli's exerted over the franchise? Like didn't Danny Boyle leave the franchise because of that?

Amy Pascal & David Heyman are the ‘showrunners’ of James Bond now for Amazon.

Boyle did have creative differences with the previous showrunners (Broccoli/Wilson) so he left and then No Time to Die was made with his departure.

The Russos. :o

So I guess this game is the first AmazEon James Bond project. I think it looks pretty fun and they have at least one actor in it that I like (Lennie James). Don’t recognize anyone else. But weirdly they seem to have styled the new Bond after Ethan Hunt, am I crazy? Maybe they just tried to give him a generic action hero look and that’s what came out.

Did you watch that Calvin Dyson video? Apparently Barbara broccoli said they could make new Bond games…with no guns :fancy:

They literally told her we can’t lmao. So I guess this is the first post broccoli era media. Not off to a bad start yet but it’s early days. I like it’s inclusivity

Barbra Broccoli logic: A character who's visual iconography is a gun barrel, as well as a small handgun with a silencer attached, should not be allowed to use guns in video games.

Maybe its for the best she walked away from this franchise?

I’ve never heard of this Dyson guy before but do we know if that’s accurate?

Here is his video. He basically just plays a clip from a podcast interview from Bobby Kotick where he talked about his dealings with the EON folks about what they did and didn't want Bond to be able to do in the games they were making.

I liked the trailer alot though I saw some comments of Bond fans that really didn't like it .

It's a much younger Bond in the game , to be sure, but I certainly would be fine if the tone of First Light, is reflective of the tone of the next Bond film.

I think the new Bond , whose going to be a Millennial or Zoomer ,should be a cocky, and charming bad boy spy , as opposed to a brooding 40 to 50 something guy with regrets as he was on Skyfall all the way to No Time To Die.

He can still have his darker side and an edge to him, but the Bond series needs to bring back some fun, to the series.

That would be cool but part of me thinks reheating old food is maybe not a great idea. Like I’m a big doctor who fan and there’s a few times lately where they’re going back to old things where maybe it’s not such a good idea.

I would love to see a hungry young unknown director get it

Martin Campbell hasn’t made a good movie in almost 20 years. Since then he’s just been making trashfire, increasingly xenophobic movies so I think it’s best that his Bond days are behind him.

You know what, I wouldn't be opposed to a Joseph Kosinski Bond film. He did a great job with Top Gun : Maverick, Twisters and Only The Brave, and decent work on Oblivion. Word of mouth for his upcoming F1 movie is excellent. Tron Legacy and Spiderhead were so-so but even good directors fluff it sometimes. I think if he was paired with a really good screenwriter, he would deliver a Bond with a lot of cinematic spectacle.

Eh, a part of me feels like they should take a page out of The Batman and Superman, they are in year two or so in their adventures. Jump right in, we don’t really need a rookie.

With Mission Impossible fresh in the mind, yeah he looks a lot like Ethan...but I think they're trying to harken back to how Flemming imagined Bond before Connery. In the novels, Bond had a thin vertical scar on his right cheek and was said to resemble musician Hoagy Carmichael. To me AmazEon's Bond looks like a mix of Hoagy Carmichael and Pierce Brosnan.

Not sure if it was their intention to go back to pre-Connery Bond for his look, but if so I applaud them for at least trying something different and unique by going back to the source.
