I probably wouldn't say no to her.:cwink: :woot:

Whatever floats your boat, but regardless Portia Di Rossi was the hottest there, she looked absoloutly stunning and was not even mentioned once

I think Stephen Frears made it very clear that sexual thoughts about the Queen are considered treason in British law. Stop ******* to this old woman.

Yeah, no offense to Alan Arkin, but he plays the same damn character in every movie.

Sad part is, both Eddie, & O'toole will never get an oscar now. The thought that O'toole is going to die not getting the golden nugget saddens me.

Did you see Eddie's face when they called Alan's name?? :wow: Man...he tried to look cool. But you could see he was pissed.

Hey...I thought he should have won. But if you do people dirty stuff comes back. He basically dogged out Scary Spice (while she's prego). Drops her for Babyface's ex-skank 2 months after they were gonna spend the holidays together. He knows it's his baby.

Then he let's Norbit be released right before the Oscars. Nice move Edward.

Congrats to Marty and the Departed:up:

Murphy not winning was the evenings biggest surprise along with Pans lost although I'd heard a few say that the one that won would

Anything Al Gore/Inconvenient Truth was upsetting to me.

Can you believe that Ethridge's song beat out 3 "Dreamgirls" songs, in the same category!???? THREE???????? :cmad:

Hollywood is so predictable and political.

I hate the Oscars being so political.

Oh, please, every major artist and band today has no scrape of talent and they sell millions. Beyonce is no different. She tells records because, like most artists, she's a corporate marketing tool dream: good body, big ass and some nice dance moves. In this day and age, it's talent second, looks first, and Beyonce is no exception.

Do you think Christina Aguilera, who is vastly superior to Beyonce in every aspect you can think of, would be where she is if she still had an amazing voice but was 300 pounds?

Beyonce is very good.........in many ways. Last night she tried to "over-sing" Jen Hudson. That was not a good night. :whatever:

Christina does have a better range than Bouncie...err..Beyonce.

An Alicia Keyes might play an instument. But she does it in skimpy clothes, and tight dresses. They all sell sex.

If Eddie lost the Oscar because he stars in movies like Norbit or that he tends to be arrogant on set or his personal situation with Scary Spice - Who the **** cares??!! It's his performance in Dreamgirls that counts and i think most people agree that he was great in that.:cmad: *sigh*

How many people win a Golden Globe and the SAG Award but loose at the Oscars? I can't think of any.:csad:

Exactly...that was a MAJOR shock for me. In fact, that was the first time I thought "well dayum, maybe none of my guesses are going to prove true tonight."

My other thoughts on the evening:

*Extremely happy for Martin Scorsese's win. Long overdue, good to see justice finally meted out.

*Was dissapointed that Melissa Etheridge's song beat out THREE Dreamgirls tracks. While I appreciate the theme of Melissa's song (global warming) the track is wack. :down

*Extremely happy to see Forest and Jennifer take the top honors, along with my personal favorite Helen Mirren. Can't help but wonder though if 3 black actors taking the top prizes was "too much" for the Academy to handle?

*Did NOT care for Beyonce, her daddy, their presence or her performance. At all.

This thing dragged on way too long.... they have no consideration for ppl on the East Coast they really don't... they need to start this thing at 7:30... or aknowledge all the little awards no one cares bout like all those "shorts" in another ceremony or before the ceremony if they can't start it earlier.... ending this at midnight is a slap in the afce

M3h,it didn't start here until 1:00

And I was tired of the Al Fat Gore love fest omg... are you kidding me Hollywood? These are the same people that take the limos or fly in their private jets... real energy conscience ppl alright... thats probably why it dragged so long... and I know the acknowledgments are important to past movies... but there is no need showing 50 foreign films... I mean that dragged for ten minutes it seemed... just too much of that... if anyone has some suggestions I'd like to hear them

Granted, knowing O'Toole may not get one in his lifetime sucks, but they had to make a choice, and Whitaker owned that role. I saw footage of the character he portrayed, and it was uncanny, seriously.

First thing that came into my mind when Alan won... but I could see where it was coming from... cause when you make movies like Norbit... Murphy and Oscar just doesn't mix very well

What's funny is that out of all the clips they showed for the actors' performances, I found O'Toole's to be the weakest. I mean, damn. I've really gotta watch Half Nelson.

Agreed, the clip they showed on The Tonight Show was much better IMO. I think it went
Whitaker
DiCaprio
Smith
Gosling
O'Toole

That's just on clips mind you. I really wish Leo was nominated I think his Departed performace could have had a chance against Forest.

Whitaker
DiCaprio
Smith
Gosling
O'Toole

Considering I only saw Pursuit of Happyness, my view on the clips:

Whitaker/Gosling/DiCaprio/Smith/O'Toole

I really wish Leo was nominated I think his Departed performace could have had a chance against Forest.

Possibly. But I think that was Forest's in the bag no matter what.

Most of the big awards were no real surprise, as too many people have been singing the praises of Hudson, Whitaker, and Mirren. Eddie's was surprising given some of his earlier wins during award season, and the fact that I just didn't find any of the acting in Little Miss Sunshine Oscar-worthy. And if I had to nominate anyone, it would have been Steve Carrell for best supporting actor. Arking, by comparison, was just the kooky, foul-mouthed grandpa, and those types of roles get boring very fast.

Little Miss Sunshine winning for best original screenplay, I don't get it either. Should have gone to Pan's Labyrinth. But I'm happy Pan's won for Cinemotography and make-up. Those people have been with Del Toro his whole career, and could do great stuff for bigger films.

And of course I'm happy for Scorcese for finally getting his Oscar, and The Departed for winning best picture.

Well, it wasn't a bad AA show. But I am really sick of these "montages for every aspect of cinema"...just when you think the show is going to get somewhere another one pops up :cmad:

But at least Hollywood wasn't trying to outsmug itself (George Clooney wasn't in house) like last year (minus licking Al Gore's anal cavity every 5 minutes).
