They mention it might get a lot of technical awards on top of that... which I'm sure makes @flickchick85 very happy. :o
Hey they are welcome to the costume, production design and sound categories. Just don't even talk to me about Best Cinematography!! :fst:

I saw Borys thinks they have shot too...

Deadpool & Wolverine were literally right there.
My God, you're further gone than I'd realized. :weeping:

This thread is as lost and meandering as a Ken Burns documentary.

Saldaña going Supporting is ridiculous fraud, but mainly I don't want her nominated because Emilia Perez is a truly awful movie. That said, it's a bad look to see hit pieces targeting her campaign and not Culkin who, from what I've heard, is just as much a co-lead in A Real Pain.

The way this year is shaping up, it might be the first time in years that my potential final top 10 probably won't have the best picture winner.

If Challengers doesn't get Best Score win out this award season.

I'm hoping to see Maria sometime this weekend. I did like Jackie and Spencer, so hopefully Pablo Larraín is three for three with these recent films of his.

Thank God Charlie's Angels didn't ruin her career momentum.
She should have starred in two more Power Rangers movies by now. I'm not even kidding around, that 2017 movie had the right cast. It just needed a second chance with a sequel that had a better script and a revamp of some of the more questionable design choices for the suits and zords.

I have never understood the idea of, campaigning for an Oscar. Does it INCREASE your chances? It could backfire if you push too hard.

They all campaign, that's the whole thing of trying to get nominated for the big awards.

They have to go to do interviews, meet and greets, press videos, attend every Hollywood showbiz function, and stuff like that. Right now people like Zoe Saldaña & Mikey Madison are everywhere right now trying to get attention from voters.

It does increase your chances.

Let’s say someone is split between two performances, but now they’ve met you at a party and you were all charming and sweet, now you’re on top of mind that could push you ahead of another person that they didn’t meet or who wasn’t as dynamic in person.

Of course, the opposite way could go as well. People think that Eddie Murphy, Mickey Rourke and Sylvester Stallone all lost because less of the quality of their performances but because of how many bridges they’ve burned over the years. Oscar voters don’t forget.

So, your past behavior in the acting community could impact your chances? Interesting.
Speaking of, Russel Crowe,
I heard a story that he lost out on an Oscar for his performance in A Brilliant Mind because a story got around that he threw a phone at a concierge while staying at a hotel.
Is Crowe known for his temper?
