Maybe but that happened fairly recently for there to be such an extended performance. I think they did a Bond tribute at the Oscars for its 50th anniversary and it wasn't as extensive as this was. I guess it was worth it for Margaret Qualley.

I'll tell you what happened. They saw that Emilia Perez got two song nominations and said "Let's not have the nominated song performances this year." "What should we do instead?" "I don't care, have Conan pad out the opening with a song and then we can do a Bond tribute for no real reason."
