BvS The Alfred Pennyworth Casting Thread

Im all for Dalton and Hurt right now. John Hurt if they want to return to the Michael Gough style, but if they want to move forward for live-action I think Dalton would be a fantastic choice.

The only thing is, this CBM site are the ones spreading Cranston as Lex and Dalton as Alfred. So I don't think those two will pan out.

The best would be Cranston as Gordon, and Dalton for Alfred.

CBN better pray they haven't put WB off Cranston and a potential look at of Dalton :argh:

I'm jumping in late here... but this topic is interesting! I've been wondering how many Batman characters, other than The Dark Knight himself will be in the movie. Do you guys think Alfred and Gordon are a lock? If this is an older Batman, is Alfred even still alive?

Not sure if Gordon or Alfred are entirely locked, but if anything they're the only two Batman characters besides Batman himself that'll more than likely appear in the movie.

Yeah I think it would only really be Alfred that would be included in this movie. Batman's just a guest star himself. Alfred is needed with Bruce in Metropolis, there's no need for a Commissioner to be there unless to transport a criminal to Gotham or something.

Anthony Stewart Head (Giles from Buffy) is a great choice!

the guy is such an underrated actor and i could definitely see him as Alfred

Well, that is because he played Buffy's Alfred.

Dalton or bust :o

Well it all depends on how Batman is written. Is he well known and on good terms with the GCPD?
If so, he'd need to tell Gordon he'll be out of town for a bit.

And Batman in this movie is certainly not a guest star. Far from it and shame on anybody who assumes that :oldrazz:

At this point in his career, I expect him to at least be on good terms with Gordon.

And I agree, Batman is a co-star.

Breaking Bad is my favorite, but a HUGE no to Banks as Alfred.... He should stick to gruff roles like he had on the show. Alfred is supposed to be British too

And no to Casey Affleck as Robin, is that a joke? Maybe fifteen years ago

Alfred is a grandfather-type; a mentor. Statham is too young and is not that.

I'm surprised hardly anybody brings up Neill.

But I can't see him being convincingly cynical towards Bruce...He's a little too nice.
