The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

Just got back. No idea what all the hoo ha is about-- this was a great time. BEST/WORST THING EVAH?!! Nup, just a really fun superhero adventure movie that has a solid emotional throughline, fun performances and characters, and some dodgy CG (but-- except for the cameos, which are notably bad-- not AS dodgy as people are raving about).

Ezra does carry the movie and does very well in their dual role. He separates each and makes them feel the same yet distinct. It's definitely a Flash movie, not a Batmovie in disguise. Whether they should've been allowed to shoot this movie in the first place... Well, no. But since they have, yeah, they did great. Can't imagine we'll see anymore of them from here on out either way.

Keaton's the MVP. As we all pretty much figured he would be. Hasn't lost a step in the last 30 years. My one and only disappointment is that we likely won't get that Beyond movie with him and Pfeifer. They'd just crush another one, and it would be huge to put him back in the Burton aesthetic.

Calle did what she was asked to do perfectly... She just wasn't asked to do very much? I enjoyed watching her, but the character as written hasn't given her enough for me to form an opinion on whether she should be carried over to WoT. I'd be fine either way, I suppose.

Like I said, felt engaged and had a smile on my face for... all of it, I think. Some LOL moments, some fun and imaginative superhero spectacle... it's a jam.

I'm just happy a Flash movie is finally coming out, and all accounts are that it is a Flash-centric film despite the crossovers. It took so long to get here, but now 6 of the 7 founding Justice Leaguers have movies. And most of those 6 are proven successes. I hope this will be seen as one too, despite the elephant in the room, and we eventually get more Flash movies.

The film was actually quite good and Ezra Miller was funnier and nothing like the cringiness in the JL films. Keaton was also great and the batcave stuff looked amazing.

But my god, what was with the atrocious CGI and rubber faces? This has to be the second worst CGI in a CBM I've ever seen, maybe after Ghost Rider 2.

It's the only thing stopping me pre-ordering the steelbook, as this film will look plain ugly on my 4K TV.

Speaking of 4k, is there an Amazon pre order link yet or is it too soon? I know I should see the film first but I already can tell I'm gonna really enjoy it for the most part. I'm hyped!

It's interesting, I'm such a picky comic book movie fan these days and I've been strongly against the ugly greyt/obvious cgi landscapes we have been getting from the MCU and other films in the genre, but I can't help but feel like, even with bad cgi, I'm gonna love this movie.

It's interesting, I'm such a picky comic book movie fan these days and I've been strongly against the ugly greyt/obvious cgi landscapes we have been getting from the MCU and other films in the genre, but I can't help but feel like, even with bad cgi, I'm gonna love this movie.

Its a lot better than Black Adam and Fury of the Gods.

Its a fun popcorn flick!

Anyone binging some of the DCEU today?

I did MOS last night, still pretty great (tied w/ BOP for best Snyderverse film). Especially thinking on how they squandered a lot of the good from that movie.

Watching Ultimate BvS at work, now... and Zack's JL at work, after lunch.

I mean it is possible but if that is the case I dont remember it and it definitely was not something they highlighted. I will look for it when I see it again.

Apparently after Barry travels back in time he and Batman have a conversation where Barry says that this was not like when he did it in Pozharnov (the Russian town from JL) where he went back in time for just a second. And Iris says something about how she feels like she and Barry saw each other a few years ago and Barry gets anxious and says that it's impossible.

Especially since MOS looks pretty great still, and is ten years old.

I'm re-watching the historical Darkseid fight atm and this looks stunning considering it was made with scraps.

One thing I can give Snyder, even if his pallet is muddy - he uses depth/scale well with CGI.

Well I think I'll prefer the vfX of this than another DC film with a desaturated filter.

I didn't mind the visual effects of this, I thought they were going for a quirky vibe/feel.
