The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

I hope Ezra doesn’t get the chop. It’s pretty obvious DC are succeeding when they’re showing characters that haven’t already had a series of movies already and the flash could be the next big star. Then again, the tv show might complicate things

I just can't wrap my head around the utter incompetence of WB to get this movie off the ground. It's just baffling to witness how they are fumbling at every turn and failing to get the ball rolling on this project.

You would think WB will make this a top priority in their future schedule since it's easier to build a franchise around Flash than the likes of WW & Aquaman.

Flashpoint could be the key to get things together again too as can be seen in the Forbes article I just linked to.

It could provide a good narrative transition point to recast both Batman and Superman too but maybe it's best to just let things settle and do this in 3 years when more ready or just simply do a Flash movie instead if enough time passes by.

I agree. It should be a more straightforward undertaking than making characters with epic setting sof their own.

So now, we are getting (rebooted) Batman and Super Pets before this?! lmao, Wb frustrates me but some of these things are justhilarious at first glance. And the title for the 2nd SS movie lmao, if Birds of Prey's title was off putting, this one just sounds really odd. Wb continues to be over all the place.

It's been rumoured for a while now it's just a Flash movie. The Flashpoint idea was ditched a while back.

Yeah, that Forbes was written on Jan. 17th 2018 so a bit dated. My mind went to thinking 2018 was this year when initially read through it after inputting into google search to only give me articles from past month. Ugh.

However, I'm still curious if there's a source definitely stating the Flashpoint movie is kaput? So much seems to go back/forth it makes me uncertain. If WB wanted, I think Cavil and Affleck would be willing to show up for part of 1 movie to soft reboot a new reality into being. If this is done though, said alternate reality perhaps should already be established I think to avoid reboot after reboot.

In all probability it most likely be a hard reboot as you say. WB's plans keep changing so hard for me to keep track.

This could be a big key movie though for WB, the sooner they get it off the ground the better as far as soft reboot goes but at the same time perhaps best they don't make a move if they're not ready to. 2022 seems like the earliest this could happen at this point; I can't see Warners releasing 4 live action films in 2021... Eitherway, I think introduction of a multiverse at some point I think is a must.

When Geoff Johns got kaput

=P

He's still around with Green Lantern Corps though replacing Goyer WB's previous go-to guy?

That being said, I am glad Warners seems to be making a separate department to deal with all these films. It seems obvious at this point how organization is key for collective decision making that works. The extent to which key decisions can be collaboratively decided on at the right time I think would yield smarter risks and less relying on post-production scrambling/meddling hopefully.

Just recast Ezra. His version of the Flash is terrible. Only reason I was interested in solo Flash was because it was rumoured to be Flashpoint and we could of had Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne/Batman.

I don't see them recasting Ezra here; the only characters they'll recast are those where the actors have chosen to move on (Affleck) or if there's scheduling conflicts (potentially with Cavil). Unless Ezra wants out, or he's busy with Beasts 3 when WB/DC want to push forward with a Flash solo, he'll remain.

I don't think Ezra was the problem anyhow, instead it was his portrayal via Snyder. I know it was only a small part, but he (as both an actor and character) seemed far more confident in his Suicide Squad cameo than he did at any point during Justice League. They need to fix his run too, cause that truly was awful!

I've said before that I found Miller's performance entertaining but he wasn't Barry Allen. I don't necessarily want him to go but his take on the character needs some serious work.

Same here. As what little news there's been has emerged on the Flash movie I've become less and less interested.

I have a hard time seeing Ezra as a dead cert for Flash at WB/DC. I think Mamoa was lucky Aquaman was far along as it was as Gadot had given them the only real success they had at that point. There's no mention of a Cyborg movie now. I don't have confidence they'll even make a film let alone keep Ezra.

His Suicide Squad cameo was less than five seconds and one line. Not worth considering imo.

I agree, he's not Barry Allen. I think recasting is the best option to reset rather than keeping the same actor and try and change his performance to be in character and directly contradict his previous attempt.

You may be right. If they did keep him and he changed his performance I think the change would have to be so acute that some kind of in-universe explanation would be needed. Maybe some specific event that happens to him.

You want change?

Ezra Barry Allen: "I was given the powers when I was 22, now I'm 30" *sobs

I hope they keep Ezra on as Barry because he deserves his own solo

I would be ecstatic if they recast Ezra. I wasn't a fan of the casting before and after JL, I have no desire to see his interpretation again.

I really enjoy when Ezra talks about the Flash. He knows his stuff, I just wish it would've translated in JL

So with Disco producing, perhaps the film begins production this year? The Sopranos prequel isn’t going to be a lengthy shoot.

Though it could also depends on when Fantastic Beasts 3 begins, if at all, after its delay. But good news for Flash.

Also, heh. Disco. I like that name.
