Part of me hopes Fantastic Beasts 2 bombs so that WB puts that franchise to rest (and open Miller's availability past July). But never bet against J.K. Rowling and the Potter fanbase...

As long as Daley & Goldstein stay and they get the script right, a 2021 release is okay (considering how many times it's been delayed). I doubt WB is going to pit this against Black Panther 2 (which is obviously on track for February 2021).

Maybe The Flash will hit theaters March 5, 2021?

Like I said in the post you didn't read, I don't hate the guy. I like him in other movies! He was miscast as Barry Allen. Being a good actor doesn't mean you're right for every comic book character. Case in point: Amy Adams...

As much as I enjoyed Ezra and want to see more of him.
Maybe recasting is the best option here
I want a flash movie goddamnit.

I like Ezra, my issue is that in JL he seemed to be playing two different characters. The Terrio/Snyder Barry Allen was sharp, and more serious than the motor mouthed buffoon that was Whedons Barry Allen.
I'd like to see more of the original Flash scenes from JL to get a better idea of what Ezra can do with the character when he isn't just being used for comedy.

He was introduced in BvS. He cameo'd in Suicide Squad. He was a co-star on JL.
Ezra's involved in another big movie and that conflicted with the schedule.
If the same happened with BP, it's understandable.

I understand why they would do it but in hindsight it feels so unnecessary - a course correction in 2021 after say what, 10 movies as a way to explain recasts and tone correction - had they just gave each hero an ounce of respect and didn't chase avengers size money.

Still, if it means we get decent films, good... it's just a shame it's taking so long.

As someone mentioned elsewhere, it all depends on how up to date the writer of the article is. They could be going with the old rumours when WW was reportedly going to appear in the Flash movie. But that was when it was "Flashpoint" and now plans have changed and the script has changed. It has all been in flux of course and DC plans have changed and keep changing.

I remember seeing the Dr Light rumour, but I think it was before they got the new directors in. So even if it was true then, it might not be now.

I think Miller could be a great Flash if he's got a good script to work from.

Ezra is a great actor and character to have attached to a movie, but, the flash from the comics, he is totally wrong for, however, i enjoyed his portrayal when i just based it on what i saw and not what i was expecting. Nightwing would have been great.

I think this is primarily due to the reshoots focus on making the film lighter. The Barry Allen we got glimpses of in SS and the early JL trailers seemed a lot better. I don't think it's the actor, but the writing/direction.

This is why I'm a little worried about Daley and Goldstein being given the reins.
