I had an idea, what if instead of the symbol being in the middle of the chest like most heroes it took up the entire torso. Or was just on his belt. Or was only on left or right side of his chest. Or maybe they give us something completely new that we've never seen before.

'The Flash' Movie Finds Its Director (Exclusive)

Seth Grahame-Smith is in negotiations to direct and write The Flash, Warner Bros.' comic book movie based on the iconic DC Entertainment scarlet speedster super hero, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie project has a treatment from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the Lego Movie duo that were also eyeing it as a possible directing vehicle.

Instead, the busy duo is headed to a galaxy far, far away, (in this case just down the street to Disney) to tackle the Han Solo Star Wars movie, thus instigating a new search for a helmer.

Flash already has a release date – March 3, 2018 – and an actor who portrays the classic hero known as "the fastest man alive" – Ezra Miller. Miller’s Flash, aka. Barry Allen, is due to be introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and then more prominently in Justice League Part 1, which will be released in the summer of 2017.

The Flash is already generating awareness in the form of a hit television series on the CW.

Charles Roven is producing the movie. Deborah and Zack Snyder are executive producing.

Grahame-Smith is the author of such genre mash-up best-sellers as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. But he also also made a name for himself as a screenwriter, especially at Warners, where he is writing Lego Batman.

Flash would be Grahame-Smith’s feature directorial debut, although he has directed episodes of The Hard Times of RJ Berger, an MTV comedy he co-created with his producing partner David Katzenberg.

Nice! I can't wait to see some casting news.

Interesting he wrote both Abraham Lincoln Vampire hunter book, and pride prejudice and zombies book.

He's only directed two episodes of "the hard times of RJ Berger"

WB's got a lot of faith in the guy

Interesting choice. Looking forward to finding out about casting for this film. We really don't know much yet

Feeling meh on this for now. My love for the TV show will probably jade my perception of this film, but of course I will reserve initial judgment until the trailer.

Ah, I was hoping for established and influential director to minimize the "damage" of having Lord and Miller involved... so far, I don't like anything I've heard regarding this movie, but it's still way too early to go all negative. Lets wait and see where this all goes.

That would be silly.

What have we heard regarding the film other than names of some people (like 4) involved and that it will likely take on a lighter tone than films like BvS?

I don't think I've heard anything else about it.

I've not seen/read any of his work. So, I have no opinion on him.

True. I was pretty much referring to the things I mentioned in the post... Lord and Miller's involvement mostly.

Anyway, as I said, it's way too early to come to any definitive conclusion. Film is to come out in 2018 and much can change since then, anyway.

Clearly he's impressed some big wigs in the DCEU inner circle to win this right to direct.

Variety are reporting it now.

#TheFlash movie to be directed by Seth Grahame-Smith (@sethgs) http://bit.ly/1Z3LLsq

The Flash” would mark Grahame-Smith’s feature directorial debut. He would helm from his own script. Grahame-Smith is the author of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” and “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” and the screenwriter of Warner Bros.’s upcoming “Lego Batman.”

Actually, I kinda like the fact that DCEU is serving as a template to launch newcomers, like it is the case with Jason Fuchs, for example.

I mean, I would be more comfortable with more established director, but a person has to start from somewhere, right?

Interesting choice. I'm a little nervous about it but I'll give him a chance. Obviously WB sees something good in him to give him such a huge project.

I'm not familiar with Seth's work so this is a wait and see scenario for me.

I'm really surprised by the choice honestly. The choice is a bit odd and risky. Interesting that they're trusting this guy to have The Flash be his directorial debut.

Well yeah but with small indie films first, this film has big financial potential, i'm really just hoping that we don't get another Trank situation.

Since when has WB ever treated their directors in the horrible way Fox does?

True, but as you already stated in the other thread, this film will be part of bigger universe and as such was pre-established way before Grahame-Smith came into equation, or rather some boundaries were set and Grahame-Smith won't have full control, which should minimize the possibility of him royally ****ing it up.

I liked the Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter book, but I didn't like the movie.
