Mine says "Spide" whenever he sees a Spidey doll/action figure/poster.

And he's been making the "I love you" sign at everyone, but it looks an awful lot like he's trying to sling a web at them too… :oldrazz:

This gets even funnier when he wears his Cap shirt and shield as well.

Well, now that I have actually seen it, I'm warning off any friends and family that will listen. I really hated it that much. I can't imagine word of mouth not killing this thing.

[BLACKOUT]Was it Gwen's death that bothered you?[/BLACKOUT]

What is that adorable little thing from?
That is Agnes from Despicable Me. That scene is in Despicable Me 2.

It is sudden and pretty violent. If parents are watching the film first, testing it for kids, that might very well be a problem.

Box Office: 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Eyeing $37 Million Friday for $90 Million-Plus Weekend

Superhero sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is casting a strong web at the Friday box office and should swing past $90 million in its North American debut.

Heading into the weekend, pre-release tracking suggested the Sony tentpole, which officially kicks off the summer season, might cross $95 million and best the opening of recent blockbuster Captain America: The Winter Soldier. That could still happen, particularly if families turn out in force on Saturday, as Sony is hoping.

Enough is enough of the whole cinematic universe thing. Superhero "movies" have become little more than long trailers for future installments. It's like they're not even trying to hide it anymore... They might as well add captions to every scene demanding the audience immediately go buy tickets for the next long trailer.

The Winter Soldier has been the only good movie connected to a cinematic universe and even it would have been much stronger without the MCU fluff surrounding it.

Nah, Take that away and you not only lose major stories but also alot of the devlopment that they take place in. Winter Soldier relies on the world building of Avengers and other flicks. So will future films. They effect eachother and the story telling.

If other studios can make it work without being forced then go for it. These are large worlds to work within. If they are doing it for the wrong reasons then that will show and catch up with audiences.

I agree. The MCU is awesome, but I won't get further into it as that is a little OT.

With the upcoming weeks and current WOM, I am wondering what this movie's drops will be. Any ideas?

Between the budget and marketing, sony basically spent about $450 million on this movie. The studio is hanging by a thread at this point.

There there. There there.

How much will it take before Sony sells its film division?

No way. Don't hate the formula because Sony's high jacking it and failing.

(Who knows how well Fox & WB will do?)

would you say say Sony is Gwen ,the web is the B.O. numbers and spidey is the movie :cwink:?

Many say it won't happen, but I say never say never on this.

Sony can't be all things to all people, it's in a billion-dollar bind and sooner or later, it's going to need to make choices.

Exactly. If TWS was just a standalone movie, then the ending won't have that kind of ramification as it did. It is because of MCU that made TWS even more significant than it is.

Captain America beating the last two Spider-Man films domestically...never thought I'd see the day.

Me neither. What's next? Thor?

It stands a good chance of being #3 among Marvel superheroes just this spring alone. That's insane!

Make a great movie.
Make sure everybody knows about it .
Its pretty simple when you think of it that way.

Wow.
That bad?

One month ago, I thought for sure this film would gross a billion. Seriously.
