having seen both TWS and tasm2, TWS will be remembered as the superior film once the hype dies down. i feel 100 % certain on that. i have never seen any audience clap in unison for anything though les miserables got a few

You can't go by audience reactions. At the end of Superman Returns, the entire theater got up and started applauding. Look at where that movie is today.

There were some laughs and gasps when I saw TWS, but overall people were pretty silent during the whole film.

Constantly creating arguments do talk down The Amazing Spider-Man 2's appeal just show how partial and biased against this film and the franchise you are, not a representative of what the WOM of the film is itself.

But you are doing the exact same thing on the opposite end of the biased spectrum.

According to Sony , the figure the opening was similar to that of The Amazing Spider-Man in the relatively similar territories and well above Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

According to Sony it's on par with TASM

Mexico: TASM 9M vs 11M TASM2

Spain TASM: 4m OW (3 day) vs TASM2: 3.9m OW (5 day)

I am not sure on that one but if I remember correctly TASM did better on UK than TASM2

Asia and Latin America are going to be the brunt of the $$$$ one thing is spidey in the uk has 4 weeks with no competition so that's easily going to gain.The next wave are the major markets.Its a decent start but the fact that this go round Batman wont kill its legs are going to help a lot.Golden week is also going to push this to a massive china opening.

that's a huge money but it also cost 200M plus another 180M-200M for marketting. and given that sony is not in a good place financially they would probably expect 800M min. this movie is really important for sony

I think it's still too early to say, what puts films over the top and hitting the billion mark are repeat viewings, so I think we'll have a better idea in the next week or so

wasn't there a report a while back that sony got some money back from the budget? anyone remember something like that? i don't remember what it was but i remember something about them getting money back
