We don't know that yet. Maybe Chris Cooper is a fake Norman Osborn while the real Norman (Massee) is fighting with his sickness. Of course Harry would be fully aware of this, but not aware of Norman's criminal activities

Seems like wishful thinking imo. A bit too convoluted.

Probably Massee is just Osborn's second hand, the one who runs the business while Norman is recovering from his sickness.

I can't help but to think Michael Massee would've been better Norman than Chris "can't keep his loose baggy face together" Cooper. I don't care if Chris Cooper is an Oscar winner, status doesn't prove anything. Massee looks better for the part and having seen his acting in different things, he'd so be fitting and worthy of playing Norman

Maybe. But I don't want him to be a random made-up character, I want to be someone from the comics. I'd take Chameleon anyday but I also could settle for Mysterio. Or maybe he's Adrian Toomes?

yeah... but anyway, please tell your Michael Massee theories everyone! The news about Massee still has me baffled

What news about Massee?! Oh my god, I missed ****ing everything!!

well, before it was discussed if he was just an Oscorp employee that wasn't gonna appear again in sequels or if he was supposed to be Norman but was recast, but I AN told he saw Michael Massee appear on set

I have an idea:

what if since the dawn of Oscorp Chris Cooper's character has always been a public decoy for Norman Osborn, so the real Norman can deal with all his criminal activities without the unneeded publicity. He can move around the city not being noticed, he can be as unknown as any common street thug

I'd rather they not go that route. I'm getting a bit tired of the whole "VILLAIN ISN'T REALLY WHO YOU THINK!" twist. Plus, I have high hopes for Cooper's Osborn, so I'd like him to take the role to its full potential.

Hard to believe, cause that would mean that NOBODY knew Osborn's face, even if he's the CEO of one of the most important companies of the TASM universe.

Also, if a decoy (Cooper) has the power of Norman Osborn, he would just get that personality for himself, and **** the one who has never been seen by anybody (Massee).

Actually, no I'm not. And as far as Raimi goes, it's been reported multiple times (with quotes directly from Raimi) that he had less control over SM3 than any of the previous films - he jad the most creative freedom over SM2.

I don't care enough about this topic to keep going back and forth. It's been the same arguments from both sides for years.

Back to TASM2. I'm really glad that so many of the scenes we're seeing still have that humor injected into them. Really seems like Webb has a handle on that side of the character.

And Garfield just looks like he's having the time of his life.

I personally wouldn't mind if Masse was a re-purposed Shocker or similar grunt level henchman. Though maybe that's because I'd really just like to see Shocker turn up at some point. He has potential to be good if used properly.

Agreed. Shocker, Mysterio, Vulture...Spidey sure has a good bunch of villains to chose from.

I definitely hope Rhino will be the last attempt. If they see that a Lizard and a Rhino can't take Spider-Man down, hopefully they'll change tactics and look into robotics. It really did become redundant in the video game. The biggest problem though, was that they injected animals with human DNA. So you basically just had a bunch of monsters with no personality whatsoever.

last attempt? change tactic? from what i know oscorp didn't create lizard to kill spiderman and we dont know that they will create the rhino to kill spiderman either.

So where is this tactic? electro may be part cross species also and created by maxs work, if it ends up bein eels, and chances are all the build up with this cross species work will come .together in a 3rd with osborn becoming green goblin.

they will probably go into tech in a 4th but not something like changing tactics, doc ock maybe

Maybe I am reaching here, but does anyone else see a spiderman tattoo on his middle finger? Looks like a head with 2 big eyes to me lol

Its just a pattern that sort of looks like that. I don't think its actually Spidey lol

Yes, it's probably just some tattoo. If anything, I gotta say it actually kind of looks like a Black Widow symbol.... Only a little, though.

Still would've been cool if he was connected to Natasha somehow, seeing as they're both Russian.

It looks awesome and hilarious, dont see the problem with it. This movie will shut up the haters, I can feel it and I believe in it 100 % (but hey I love TASM)

Those who keep mocking the movie will be annihilated :D

More seriously, I really believe Webb is going to show the goods big time, TASM is his second movie, now that he's been in this world and knows how it works, and that he has seen all the feedback, he knows what to do.

I honestly think TASM will be taking mockery until the end of time.

But those Spidey vs. Rhino pics are looking pretty cool. It's weird, you can never tell whether they're filming or just strolling around between takes. It's great that this version of Rhino seems to be an actual a-hole of a villain for a change, instead of the usual misunderstood non-villain (it worked with Doc Ock, but not one time since). And I was fearing that Webb had taken criticism of some things too much to heart and had decided to tone down Spidey's smartass-ery, but thanfully he didn't, because this scene looks all kinds of fun. Hopefully they don't blow all his jokes in the promos this time.

And please, please, PLEASE don't mutate him, film people. Give him a badass armor, why don't you.

So I guess it's safe to assume they're shooting at Grumman Studios today?

Yeah, at this point it's looking likely that we'll see a cross-species Rhino, which is...boring to me. I'm not a big fan of the cross-species motif in this TASM franchise. It was necessary for the Lizard, but I hope it won't be the "go-to" route for villain-creation in this series. It became so redundant in TASM video game.

It really depends on how they handle it. I think the cross-species thing is a cool idea, but if ALL the villains are cross-species then it will become way too repetitive.

Even if Electro gets his powers from electric eels, I still wouldn't call him a "cross-species villain" as long as he doesn't turn into a giant electric eel.

Right now it only looks like Lizard and possibly Rhino will be the cross-species villains of the series which really isn't that bad.

For all we know, the vial that Spidey is holding could just be a serum that gives super strength/agility, and does NOT turn someone into a giant Rhino. It could very well be anything. Maybe he still gets a suit. We don't know.

We know what the serum did the Connors, claws and all, growth, strength
