It's easy to give a film series a second chance when you realize the product was "meddled" with.

true , the Amazing Spider-man had three major problems imho : Script,Editing and Marketing so i hope the new crew does best than the last one

The marketing's problems is even because of the editing, imo.

But, to say I'm giving TAS-M 2 a chance doesn't mean I'll be giving the first film another chance. I am still disappointed with the final product. I can always own the sequel on Blu-ray and just make an origin film in my head on what happened before the sequel, lol.

i know this question could sound stupid but what´s the difference between script and screenplay? because Vanderbilt wrote both the script and the screenplay in the first one and now Kurtzman and Orci are writting the screenplay

They're the same thing. Vanderbilt wrote both the story and the screenplay for ASM, while I believe he wrote the story for this one and Kurtzman/Orci are writing the actual script.

If you were to say the story and screenplay, that would be a difference, but script and screenplay is the same thing.

Like how David Goyer and Christopher Nolan thought of the story for TDK and TDKRises, but the Nolan brothers wrote the screenplays/scripts for TDK and TDKRises.

Vanderbilt wrote the first draft of TASM2, but Orzi and Kurtzman are doing a script polish.

I do that even when I really enjoyed the movie lol

My version (I think I explained this before) isn't an origin, but it kinda is. It starts from the proto-Spidey era when he has the knit cap & sun glasses. In fact the movie starts on top of a roof, Peter talks into a small recording device: "web-shooter test day 26, I'm finally confident enough to try them on the field. Or dumb enough, we'll see how this plays out" and then it plays out like the sequnce where he jumped from the roof, spins his web into a helicopter and catches a criminal (but this time it happens day time). The immediately after we see the first scene with Captain Stacy at the police department (just like in the movie), Spider-man leaves the previously mentioned criminal in a wedgie, Captain Stacy & the crowd watch as Spider-man flees... and then the main titles begin, showing us the key points of his origin. Maybe even then going past the proto-Spidey era, showing him making the official costume.

Also my idea for Lizard would be different too. First of all it's a separate persona and Connors doesn't want to turn into the Lizard. Though, the persona kinda mirrors what Connors will experience in the movie. Ratha, Connors boss in the ESU labs is actually a guy from Oscorp and he pressures Connors on finishing the serum. He refuses to give the serum ultimately and Oscorp goons beat him up in front of his family, threatening that if doesn't give the serum to them tomorrow, he'll have to pay an even higher toll. So when Connors later is the Lizard he truly hates people, which is a reflection of Connors having had seen how petty people can be and he hates Connors because he was too weak to do anything about it. The Lizard doesn't want to help people, he thinks of them as "resource" for continuation of his species

Day 93. Green isn't just for goblins.

Spidey got hops y'all!

I bet Marc has fun with these(pics) cause then people automatically believe that it might hint at something, like with the name goblin in it and they'll be like"OMG GG confirmed, we all know they're goin to keep him under wraps.

Well said, man!

That's a cool take on the Lizard, I like that in a lot of ways.

Personally, I wouldn't have had a 'super' villain for the first one. it'd be Spidey vs. Kingpin and the Enforcers. with Tinkerer being a weapons supplier. but introduce Connors. and Osborn very deep in the background, but actually cast and appearing to some small degree.

for me, the litmus test of this new series/spiderverse is tasm2. if i'm let down by it like i was with tasm1, i'm not following tasm3 news and will probably just see it out of obligation lol.

let's see what you can do webb now that you don't have to retell an origin story. let's see what sony can do now that they have the benefit of hindsight re. what people did and did not like about tasm1.

also, please make it look/feel like a 230 million dollar film this time around.

I agree about ASM2 being the 'make or break' film for Webb in this series. Most of the issues and criticism about the first movie fall within the whole "it's the retelling of the origin only 10 years after SM1" category. I mean, you can't get thru a review anywhere without constantly running into the comparisons and the fact that the movie essentially hits the same points as does Raimi...and btw, I'm not trying to start an argument about the origin itself or whether it was needed or not; that's been done to overkill. Howvever, with ASM2 Webb has the opportunity to really make something special and go into new territory with 'his' Spidey-verse. I'm reserving my excitement as much as possible but I'm very hopeful he'll meet the challenge head-on and overcome. IMO the pressure to deliver on this sequel has to be exponentially higher than the first movie. Unlike you though, I was very satisifed with ASM and greatly enjoyed Webb's interpretation.

I don't get how it looked too stylized, I've always pictured nighttime New York to be rich in colours.

Yep. NYC is beautiful at night...a rich palette for sure. The colors are a bit exaggerrated imo but it never looked too stylized.

Imagine how much it cost just to put the Lizard on the big screen. An entirely CGI villain probably was a huge chunk of the budget, which could also explain why the scenes with him were rather short (the bridge and the sewers).

Not to mention the entire or very close to the entire HS fight was CGI along with the entire crane sequence being CGI. That's gotta eat up a lot of the dough.

In your little corner of the world...how hot is it in Phoenix? Lol. Out of topic, but, as someone who once lived in Mesa, I feel for anyone who lives in Arizona.

lol. Yeah man, it's full-on summer mode here in AZ. We're above 100 degrees every day.
