Was anyone expecting them to do a fourth one? I kinda had a feeling but this one even though I did threw me for a loop

I was the whole time. Matt Tolmach said at one point, "three movies at the least." I always thought with adding MJ, and certain villain speculations, that a fourth movie would be required. I think 4 movies would actually complete this..story arc.

It would make sense to do it at that time, 3rd is far to soon

it also make me wonder if they may wait on gwen now.. i mean... on one hand i see them wanting to do it in the third now... but on the other.... i still think it's a smart idea to have her die in the 2nd... which gives us a grieving parker in 3 (and more MJ), and sets the 4th up with Peter in a better spirited mood, and now in a relationship with MJ

I really wouldn't expect him to be with MJ by the 4th, even if gwen dies in TASM2, maybe get close to her in a 4th but deep down would be scared to get involved, no way you could get over the love of your life dying that soon, its not like just getting dumped and getting over it

This is a more grounded approach after all

I have to say... I'm surprised at this announcement.

But then again, Sony needs Spider-man so they may as well mark their territory while they can.

Let's hope it doesn't all fall apart.

Yeah let's hope not. I like the idea of having 4 films though, cause it will give them the room to take their time and spread out the story...especially now it seems Webb may be taking aim at the Sinister Six.

At the same time, I think this announcement does put more pressure on ASM2. And that concerns me.

This is exactly what I want to happen. And I think that IS what's gonna happen. It's the only way for good spacing.

I was always confused at first because if they kill Gwen in TASM2, TASM3 would be dealing with the loss and I was like, that's it? So happy for this announcement.

the films all don't have to take place right after the other... and he might not be with MJ in 4.. but you could see a very budding relationship, ending the film with them being together

id be too greedy asking for Six films... but if possible i'd like to stick Felicia in there before MJ
