If I had a nickel for every time a romantic triangle was placed within a Spider-Man film, I'd have almost enough money to help Marvel Studios buy back the rights for the character from Sony.

actually you'd probably have like $0.20

close though!

everybody LOVED raimis version.. and no the mask is totally different so its not exactly raimis version...

suddenly its a bad thing...

unbelievable people try to hate the suit because its TOO CLOSE to the real comic suit... WTF hahahaha

- The Spider on front and back
+ Raise webs a bit higher
+ Make webs more silver
+ Add thickness to webs
- Replace eyes
+ Add more red to the arms
- Change material of the blue parts to match the red
- Take off webshooters

The base model is like Raimi's, but there are differences that improve upon it, and give it it's own character AND adds elements of TAS suit.

I liked Raimis alot. BUT I like TASM's more. So far, IMO, non of the set pics look good. And those boots just look meh. It just seems like such a BIG leap from the previous costume. I do hope at least we get a good in film transition, ala TDK.

I tell ya what, I hope that this costume gets put through hell. This has nothing to do with the design of the costume.

What I loved about TASM was how battered and tatty the costume got over the course of the film. I hope they continue that in TASM2.

is it true andrew said he filmed a scene with Rhys Ifans for this film?

Exterior webshoters = "Damn! My web's empty! Gotta reload!"

the new image reminded me about this

I kind of wish the webbing wasn't raised. If it's not raised in the comics books, don't raise it in these movies. If they are trying to be like the comic books, don't try and make it like the Raimi films. Sometimes I do wish the rights could go back to Marvel....

If it's not raised it will look stupid in real life. The interesting thin about comics is that you can get in all of that muscle detail to show through the spandex so that what you end up with is an interesting and imposing image regardless of the costume design. In real life you don't have all that detail of spandex so tight it looks like bodypaint to play off of so you need to draw the eye in a different way.

With raised webbing for instance.

Raised webbing looks better on film. If it was ingrained into the suit, fom certain shots and depending on the light you might not even see it. Raising it makes it look more pronounced.

I had to check out some TASM scenes to see how they did the webbing there. It's indented and looks more like the red has been carved into rather that the icon webbing of the comics.

I think they're going more for iconic here and to really have the webbing show on film, and to do that it needs to be raised.

You don't want this man.

Yeah, I'm sure raised webbing is there for a reason (other than aesthetic purposes).

Well, now that we've seen the boots, etc, I can say I love this suit! I eventually grew to love the suit from the last film, and I ALWAYS loved BOTH Raimi suits...but this suit with those eyes...its as near to perfect as it could possibly be! Now....I'm starting to get excited!! :spidey:
