A better look at the front of the mask and the chest:

The opening scene villain is.....dom dom dom doommmm....."The OWL!!!"

I knew this suit had something very familiar... It's from Enter Electro!

:D

It's funny, I didn't like TASM, like at all. Thus I haven't been able to get all that excited for the sequel. But now, even though I know the suit has nothing to do with how much I will like the film, the greatness of the new suit has got me intrigued and interested again.

Also found out they got a new DP for the film too, I dig! Now I just hope the script is something to write home about, cause that was the main thing that made TASM such a let down for me.

And it's not that I'm a huge fan of the Raimi movies either (though I enjoy the first two), I'm still waiting for a Spider-Man movie I can call great.

Andrew, Emma, and Dane have all said it's a wonderful script, though they may be legally obligated to say that.:oldrazz:

The first two photos reveal a different texture in the mask than the third photo.
It's all that lightning jazz. Here's to hoping it looks good on screen haha 'cause I'm worried.

And why DOES the mask look like it had bird poop? Maybe he gets shatted on at the end of the first scene.

I wish Sony would hurry up and release those PS1 Spidey classics on the PS Store. :cmad:

Aaaaand I'm back. Couldn't stay away after seeing the new shots of Spidey. What's up dudes?

I just want to say, I love those eyes! That suit is straight up Mark Bagely inspired. Andrew's leaner look really helps sell it too. Great looking suit. I like how the webbing is only slightly raised as opposed to the Raimi suit, everything just flows much nicer.

All that said, I really did love the direction of the suit in the last film. I'm not saying I loved that suit per se, but I loved the idea behind it. I liked how it seemed to be something that a kid would put together out of materials he would just find lying around and make due with it. The fact that it looked incomplete is what I feel made it look so good, because that was the story! He was just starting out, so he obviously wouldn't have had the sleek looking classic suit in mind when first crafting it.

I'm hoping we get to see a TDK style transition from the old suit to the new one. I don't think it does the new suit justice enough to just have it show up at the beginning of the film. I like how someone suggested that Gwen should have a hand in putting it together much how MJ did in USM when Peters suit got torn to pieces. It'll be a nice visual cue for the audience to see the evolution of the suit from the beginner model in TASM to the new, more memorable one. I hope anyway.

And I know I saw a picture of two FBI guys on set and there was a panavision film camera in the background. Is this all being shot on film, or was that just screen testing? I REALLY hope they decided to go film on this one.

Wait...the spider emblem in the front looks wayyyyy too low. It's like on his stomach almost

An official pic of the costume should settle everyone. With the CGI enhancement it's going to look ama... Wait for it... dary!

Looks like he's got a face shell....I hope that isn't the case - actually seeing his mouth/jaw movements when talking was a really nice thing in ASM.

I'm extremely happy that the vibrant colors are there as it looks! I'm also fangasming over how great the whole suit looks! Spot on!

I am however concerned about the whole "Fake Spidey" thing. As much as I'm sick of hearing people saying Nolan invented this and that, something like that would actually feel like a copy for real even though it's happened in the comics I think. I really hope it's a one guy thing and that it's maybe pre-Mysterio Quentin Beck or someone.

What are those pictures of? What mask is that? I don't get it

On the set pics, where the gold lenses were not attached, you could see the shell, wait, let me try to find the pics
