Not sure why so many people are struggling over the idea of a copycat Spidey. I mean, I can't be the only one who immediately thought of this:

That can also be really intense if they take that intensity from the comics. I hope they have Spider-Man with that much rage about it.

I'm very worried they take too much inspiration from the Ultimate comics! I really don't like those as much as the 616 universe. Please, no Ultimate versions of the classic villains

I can't get Harry being Venom out of my head for TASM 3. Webb posted the pic in the morgue of locker 14. He hash tagged #happybirthday and it was Dane DeHaan's birthday THAT day!

But if they go Ultimate Kraven, Ultimate Shocker, Ultimate Green Goblin (!) etc. I'm not sure I'll like this series any more :P

It makes perfect sense Webb doing something like this in a movie. For one, people like J. Jonah Jameson would have a field day with a report of a crook dressed up as Spider-Man or wearing a Spider-Man costume robbing banks. I can see critics however comparing the scene to "THE DARK KNIGHT" with the Batman imitators, but it's smart because in real life... every one has their impersonators and copycats.

As I said, if they do that, I really hope it's Quentin Beck pre-Mysterio. Though he should be able to come up with a more identical suit however.

I mean, even if it's done in the comics it feels like too soon after TDK. That will get bashed to death for "copying" it, and I can understand that compared to other things ASM has been accused of copying.

I also don't want that to be the start of why JJJ hates Spidey. It would make him seem too stupid. I want JJJ to hate Spidey because of his own actions.

I'm not a mask expert, is a face shell just something to keep the shape of the mask in check?


My only concern with the suit is that it doesn't appear to be skin-tight in the pictures.

Yes, that's one function. Another is to pop the lenses in. It also lets the actor or stuntman breath better.
