Concerning the comedy in this installment, I think most of that is going to stem from the early part of the movie. This is when Peter is at his most arrogant. He's still a kid and he's been winning all of his fights so that goes to his head. He starts thinking he can't be touched. But once Electro comes around and bad stuff starts happening, he won't be as cocky. Maybe in his first encounter he underestimates Electro and is still arrogant, but he won't be for long after that. There is a heavy drama factor to this film as well. Peter and Gwen's relationship might be in danger in more ways than one, Max is out for revenge with his power, Peter is trying to be friends with Harry again but will probably try to figure out what's going on with him, Norman is still dying, etc. Overall, it sounds like a Spider-man story for me. Lighthearted fun and drama should strike a balance.
