i think he will be joking about more with the rhino then he will electro.

they will rise the threat level with electro by the end of the movie

I hope TASM 2 gets a huge sponsorship from either Energizer or Duracell.

That wouldn't stop it from being pointless. In CBMs, it usually done by acton. In comic books, they can use dialogue that can be quite dumb at times.

And besides, the last battle is NOTHING to joke about.

I've never understood why people think Spidey only opens his mouth to tell a joke. It couldn't be farther from the truth. He verbalizes his inner thoughts, feelings, ideas, etc. and it's a necessary part of his character. Like the HS fight showed, he can be speaking lines without telling jokes and have it add to the scene in a way that compliments the action. The final fight is no exception and could have used some Spider-man dialogue without ruining the tension. It could have helped the tension too depending on how well it was written, all without telling a single joke. He could have expressed his fear, tried to get Connors to see what he was doing, talked about his plan i.e. freezing the Lizard when he saw the nitrogen, etc. The point is, there's plenty of ways to include his very verbal nature without making a constant stream of one-liners.

I'm not trying to take away from the final fight or anything; I enjoyed it.

I think that fans are going to have to accept that SM won't joke or quip as much in the movies as he does in the comics. It works fine in the CB, but is hard to do in live-action without coming across as obnoxious and annoying. You don't want him to joke around during the Oscorp fight because it is a deadly serious situation and very personal for him.

There is scene in the trailer where Peter takes Gwen swinging with him.

And that shot of him with his mask off and holding her with the city behind then. Classic superhero.

I can't wait to see such shots. Particularly New York. All the real city scapes and what not. Hopefully it's something they showcase and not quickly show.

I read an article on why Spider-Man is the best CB superhero. Some of it reminded me about ASM.

It was something along the lines of Peter creating the Spider-Man character for him to joke and mess around in order to act out his inner personality and release his emotions & fears.

In ASM he did that after Uncle Ben dies to keep him busy from being miserable about it

What the hell, Marvel are destroying the ultimate universe!?

I watch them too. Very sad to hear it. Ultimate Spider-Man were the comics I read as I was like 6 when I read the first one back in 2000.

How to fix Comics Spider-Man by RedBlueWonder:
Peter Parker IS Spider-Man
Have him struggle with everyday things
Have an awesome girlfriend
Stop retconing s***
Don't have your arch-nemesis bang your dead ex
Don't destroy Ultimate
I liked that cross-over but keep the two worlds seperate please

Glad you're not a writer.

That's highly debatable.

No, not really.

It isn't much of a debate at all. Marvel has done VERY well with Spider-Men that aren't Peter Parker.

Better than what they've done with Peter in recent years.

Wait lemme get this straight. Ultimate universe goes bye bye, and Miles Morales will join the 616? Will he be the main Spidey? What happened to..Spider-Ock?

It's worth noting that while Miles will be coming to the 616 during the "Hunger" series, its unknown if its permanent.

That probably depends on whether or not the Ultimate Universe is actually destroyed.
