Why can't the final swing be both?
He listens to the full voicemail from Uncle Ben. You see that he has inspired others as Spider-Man... Saving the crane man's son, saving the city from becoming lizards, saving doctor Connors.
There's graffiti in the streets of his symbol. People are starting to believe in him instead of wanting him arrested.
There's a feeling of motivation for Peter, he feels more like a hero. You see him watching in the streets at night. Almost as a guardian. He sees the trouble, he goes after it.
There's a difference between the final swings in SM compared to SM2 and TASM. Spider-Man is just swinging to swing in SM. For 2002 that was MAJOR eye candy with a little bit of MURICA' right at the end. In SM2 you see him leave MJ to go save the day. In TASM you see him following the cops to go save the day. I find them quite similar in that sense. To say the TASM final swing is merely eye candy is naive.
