I really hope this movie turns out good, although I have a feeling that in terms of reception it could be polarizing in general terms. I think it'll either stand toe to toe, or close to the high of that of SM2, or it'll fall below even Spider-Man 3 in terms of reception. I don't see the reception merely being lukewarm like TASM in this case considering how bombastic this movie appears to be, on almost every front.

Critics are hard to predict these days. I saw Robocop the other day and there's no way it deserves to be rotten on RT, in my opinion. I think that by today's standards, a perfectly competent movie's score can suffer by what is perceived as a lack of originality, or fatigue for a certain genre or what have you.

Then again, I think TASM 2's "joyfulness" could play a big part. Aside from the talented cast it's got humor, color, youthfulness, a sense of fun... it stands apart from other gloomy superhero stuff. Obviously the story is a big question mark, but it would require a huge leap for it to fall below Spider-Man 3. I'm personally predicting an 80s score on RT.

So...the they thought you would bootleg?

It's gonna be very tempting. As for the quality, who knows how it will be? There are some good bootlegs, and there are some bad bootlegs.

I know y'all will be tempted to check one out too. :oldrazz:

When can a copy come out? Between April 20th-30th?

So who all are seeing the movie before May 2nd?

I would have seen it probably over 5 times by then, it's that good.:woot: I'll be broke by that time.:csad:

I am planning to watch it twice simultaneously in the theatre

This is definitely worth a mention, so do not flame me for the following.
But for arguments sake, I for one had an issue with Peter & that freaken cup which didn't spill the slightest drop of coffee out of it (I'm over that nit-pick now, so don't worry). But then I see an obscene amount of people totally whining, going completely monkey-crazy over Garfields accent in that new Peter & Harry clip!? Really? Is THAT ok?? That, if anything deserves a slap in the face for being a ***** about it, guys. Sorry, but it's gotta be said. I can't believe the weird comments I read from the last 10 pages back about that issue. It's really ridiculous.

Garfields accent, is just fine! I think he sounds awesome, and at least he's not speaking british. That's good enough. Who freaking cares (well, obviously all too many of you, lol) if in some little scenes Garfields accent tend to be a little "muddled" in some words & sentences. I didn't once think about it, watching this! I was so damn caught up in the dynamics between two young A-list actors here, acting the **** off of each other! I thought this little scene were all that. It gave me even more comfort and continues to further showcase that this film is character-defined. We so shouldn't complain over a freaken little twist of accent here.

PS. NOTHING in the Raimi franchise comes close to being as deep, genuine or layered as what little is seen between Dehann and Garfield here. Sorry to say, but Franco and Maguire never had any chemistry like this.

I usually see films twice too unless I really like them. I saw IM3 4 times, Thor: the dark world 3 times I think and MOS once or twice last year. I saw TDK 5 times lol I was spoilt back then. Now I have to work.:fst:

Do you consider yourself more of a movie person or television person? The Avengers was the only movie i was tempted to see twice at the theater, and that was because the audience experience was amazing.

You know, for a film that hasn't been released, it's fun to make statements we don't know. Before Man of Steel came out, I proclaimed it the best CBM of all time. Look how that turned out...

A bit of hyperbole there. And by a bit I mean a lot. Raimi made 3 films' worth of Harry/Peter interaction, this is a one-minute-long clip. Come on now, wait to see the film at least.

I think you just have to accept that not everyone will agree and that some things bug some people more than others. That's fine. If Joe Kickass or anyone else feels that way, it's okay. I haven't watched the clip, but Andrew's voice has never bugged me. So I don't imagine it will here either. We don't have to agree.

EDIT: Also, Nemeres is right. We should wait until release to make our quality judgements.

I like the build up between Peter/Harry in the Raimi series.

1: They were friends, brothers even.
2: Still brother like but friction due to Spidey. Also realization of the truth.
3: Show down.

The film is kind of being; **** all that, let's let them fight.

How was TASM lukeworm? It's very high 70's SM2 is a little more above it.

Some here really overrate SM2's perception in 2014!. It's not in the same leauge as TDK Trilogy or The Avengers. Nothing personal but I wish people would not let their personal opinions mingle with audience/fan reception.

I don't like IM3 but I don't pretend fans and the audience didn't like it.

If high 70s were near low to mid 90s, I would have got A's on all my test and classes in High School and currently in college.

Also, Spider-Man 2 is better than the Avengers. There I ****ing said it.

We should make our own arguments for why we like or dislike something. Not those of other people. And we shouldn't project our opinions onto them.

I like Avengers more. A lot more. SM2 is actually my third favorite Spidey film. I get that a lot of people like it best, though.

Behind the Scenes pic of promo day in LA w/ Jamie, Emma & Andrew. Not sure if this is something w/ Conan O'Brien or if he was just passing by and saw them in the studio...

I believe GG was referring to the audience approval rating on RT. ASM has a 77% while SM2 has an 81%.

I like Avengers too but it's kind of boring. When I first saw it, I thought it was ok. Second viewing, I liked it. My thing with Avengers is the first hour is ****ing boring as hell. It doesn't get interesting until Loki is in Germany. Also the last hour is basically full blown actions which is good but it's boring man. Good boring.

Hulk, Spider-Man, Daredevil, and X-Men are my favorite Marvel characters and groups and if it wasn't for Hulk; I wouldn't have cared for it.

Also I have one problem with Hulk. So when Hulk fights that monster, he says he's always angry and in control. So why the hell was he chasing Black Widow and fighting Thor? It makes no sense.

Spider-Man 2. I still remember seeing that film in New York as an 11 year old. After I saw that, I wanted to be Spider-Man. Heh, it's kind of funny my Uncle took me, my mom and brother to see it.

Avengers keeps me captivated the whole way through. But more power to you, LEVITIKUZ. :)
