Is anyone not concerned where they are going with this franchise ? I love TASM and I think I will like this film but it just seems to take things to the next level. Does anyone agree ?

It's pretty "out there" even for a movie about superhumans.

As stupid of a decision this was on Sony's part, does this really ruin the film for people? Of course it may ruin a surprise, but if we simply went to films for the surprises, then we wouldn't ever watch a film more than once. I remember reading the comic adaptation of Spider-Man 2 way back when before seeing the actual film, yet even knowing the complete trajectory of the plot, seeing it executed in the way it was more than made up for it.

No, most of us are just upset that they spoiled it, but it won't stop us from seeing it.

That's what I mean. I can suspend disbelief to a certain extent but this stretches things too far. I really hope they know where the are going with this because the end result could be a train wreck.

Nothing is "out there" when you have a hero with superhuman spider-like strengths and abilities running around in red and blue spandex fighting Goblins, Rhinos and whatever you want to call Electro.

Not to mention it would have been cheesy even in the 90s.

How? In what sense? You don't even know where they're going with this anyway. I think its pretty dark for a Spider-Man film (which isn't a bad thing).

Marc wants Mysterio. Not sure how he'd fit into the Oscorp stuff, though.

Idk, cryogenics and all that aren't out of the realm of reality. Plus the head/brain is the most important bit anyways, as it's the little hard drive of data that contains whatever makes you, you.

Plus Oscorp is always at the top with science and tech so, eh.

I see this either leading to RoboGoblin... or cloning's involved to some extent.

Don't be surprised if you don't see him until the next reboot.

Thank you. Just seems like another cheap criticism. "Out there" would be Spider-Man fighting the characters from My Little Pony or trying to survive a zombie apocalypse with Evil Dead's Ash.

Oscorp is a multi-billion dollar company. They can tie ANY villain in. The fact that they're rich gives them all the flexibility in the world.

People are having a hard time accepting cryogenics but seem to have no issue with Oscorp doing cross-species experiments?

The next reboot won't be for years if 2-4 and the spinoffs work out. Unless you mean a soft, recast reboot.

In The Gathering of the Sinister Six, Mysterio is basically getting revenge on the film industry and has goals of his own. He was actually the toughest member to recruit for the Gentleman, but eventually he was "assimilated" into the sinister six.

I think what worries me is how they explain this spoiler. If not executed effectively or convincingly I am worried it is going to take me out of the experience for the third film.

It's kind of obvious what they're doing. They're preserving it. They could use the brain functionality of the head to power something, or they could be developing the cross species formula in such a way that Norman can regenerate his body. Or the GG is going to be part cyborg. Either way, Crank 2 man, Crank 2.
