Wait... People hated that scene?

IDK, i thought that it was pointed out as being extremely cheesy scene. Even John Campea who loved the movie, said that that scene was terrible.

Does Batman and Robin have Arnold Swartznagger as Mr. Freeze?

....I'm being serious. That TMNT trailer made the TMNT fan inside me die.

Is that sarcasm?

LOL, i'm just kidding. I just didn't find the trailer that good. They should have shown more.

I really don't understand the hate.

Personally, I find it incredibly inspiring. Horner did indeed do a phenomenal job at scoring the scene.

I just have no idea why Crane Dad would think he could use the cranes if he can't make use of all the tall buildings that line up the avenue. And that's all I can think about when I watch the scene. But the swinging itself is great, so at least it's good for eye candy.

I'm thinking Crane Dad and the other construction workers, probably didn't know how the whole thing would pan out, at all, but after having Spidey save his freakin' son, I like to believe that Crane Dad did his best to return the favour - I find it beautiful.

And the swinging is indeed eye candy.

Honestly, I really don't see much of a difference.

Not to be annoying, but mind pointing out any shots in particular
that look better? :yay:
Yeah I'm huge into detail so you might not catch it. But to me it's a vast improvement.
Check out the shot where Spidey flies into the sky with the OsCorp tower, and the camera moves to the front of his dive. It's real quick but compare them. The YouTube version looks very iffy to me, and the iTunes trailer has way more depth. Also, the quick shot of what looks like Spider-Man shooting a web to leap back at Green Goblin? It's at night. And the small tease of their fight looks so good. These are the shots that stood out to me.

Did they just tease Goblin's laugh, or am I hearing things?!
Yessir. Get the digital issue for EW, they have a much longer laugh. Or you can send me your email and I'll send you a video of it haha.

I love the swinging in that scene, but I roll my eyes every time I see the crane dad in the crane, so stupid that they put him in there, and the weird dramatic shot of the other crane operator. cut those two bits out and it'd be a thousand times better.

Btw, have any of you guys seen the final trailer on iTunes Trailers? I think it's 1080p and wow the CG is way improved. The models look GREAT. Way more real, way more believable.

Itunes is the way to go. Most times I find that footage on YouTube does a real disservice to the quality of the visuals, with it's saturation and pixelization problems. Itunes/Apples trailers show footage in their best light. Unfortunately, 95% of people probably see the YouTube version.

Cool, but why does Spidey need them then, if he can swing regardless? I like the concept behind it -the dad's gratefulness, that's very poignant- but the execution was lacking a bit in the logic department, at least in my eyes. But I guess the people who like it really like it... and I do love moments like that in other films myself, so it's not like I want them to refrain from sappy stuff.

Hey Nicko would you be allowed to PM that or is it within' site guidelines to do that over Email?

EDIT: I do think that the crane scene was great, visually, cinematically, and the music was at its best in that scene.

Putting the dad from the bridge scene is what hurt it and made it somewhat chessy or lame. Turning innocent bystanders into an integral plot device is usually a no no.

It works better in video games than movies, since you only have so much screen time and story to give.

Always looked to me like it was easier to swing from the cranes. Like when Spidey swings from buildings he has to twist so he doesn't just swing into them. But the cranes were a straight shot. A helicopter would've been better. But oh well.

It really is. For TASM, I made sure to get the 720p version onto my phone. (Back when you were allowed to do that).
The CG looks so good.

No I just choose email because the video is from my phone. Easiest. I just took a vid of the EW Page Intro haha.

Alright then, I'll PM you my email if that's ok!

Honestly, I still can't tell a single little difference between the iTunes one and the YouTube one. I'm guessing it's because I've been watching the really-good-quality-one that I got from Chris, and gotten used to the whole thing, generally just looking better.

I'll just have to take your word for it. :)

Anyway, I'll PM you my email. :woot:

I'll need to check it out on iTunes. I'm sure there are still people saying that it looks like a video game. :o

Tbh, the only shot that looks iffy to me now is that shot of Spidey and Electro at the Power Plant, and Spidey throws something at him. But the rest is all gorgeous. Especially the shot of Spidey letting go of the web in mid swing and twisting up then goes into slo-mo...:hubba

where can i download the final trailer 1080p?

Go for it!

Yeah! I was thinking that same thing. That you've been watching an already good quality one. I've been watching the YouTube version on my iPhone so I'm like...yeah CG looks eh. But once I played the iTunes Trailer I was like.....jaw dropped. There it is. So impressive, I can't wait to see it on the big screen since people are saying it's awesome.

How exactly, if he's still moving and flexing his leg? And is he gonna need cranes every time he swings? I get what they were going for, but it came off forced.

Yeah.
It's definitely better :-)

We all win here.

Better that than slam into a building. lol It could've been better. But I understand the logic they were going with.

So how do you guys feel about them saying they fool the audience many many times about Gwen's fate?
