Okay, so for the guys who've been nagging at me to see the movie a second time... I just got back from it, right now.

I can say that the movie is without a doubt much better this time around, for me.

Truly a 8.4/10.

What changed?

David Poland's review was finally added on RT for TASM2.

Hm, what do you mean?

Maybe I misinterpreted your post, but I thought you were saying you liked it more your second viewing. I've never watched a movie more than once in a theater, so I'm curious why the second viewing was better.

Oh. Yeah, I definitely liked the movie more, this time.

Quite simply, there's a lot of stuff going on in the movie that's easier to understand the second time around.

Agreed. You can digest the movie better IMO and flesh out some stuff that was abit clouded in the 1st showing. Actually some people that thought it was average should see it again of course first impressions are usually the right one but in some cases a second view should be on the cards. Thats my written rule anyway.

Ah you gotta try seeing movies twice. Especially ones your on the fence about. Giving them another shot with a completely different mindset is a whole new experience. You can really pick it apart and judge it fairly.

I did this with ASM. The first time I watched it, I wasn't too keen on it, but I saw it again in 2d, with a better crowd overall, and I enjoyed it immensely.

Another rave from a respected movie critic, actually he is one of Top Critics on RT:

There are two types of superhero movies: the ones that brood and the ones that swing.
“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is proudly the latter, filled with high-energy action. But this fleshed-out sequel also tackles an iconic grown-up moment in comic-book history with nary a hitch.
It helps that star Andrew Garfield is possibly the best actor to ever star in any Marvel Comics-based flick. As anyone who saw him on Broadway in “Death of a Salesman” can attest, the young British actor can effortlessly turn a cocky smirk to a queasy grimace. His great depth hoisted 2012’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” to levels it almost didn’t deserve.

Webb has succeeded in separating his tone and mythos from Sam Raimi’s earlier Spidey films. This franchise’s animal-man baddies begat from weird science done in secret labs is fun, but kids under 7 may find Electro, and the movie’s human toll, a bit scary. (Let’s hope they mimic Peter and Gwen’s love of science, though.)
The cast meets every challenge. DeHaan continues a grand upward trajectory, and Stone is both glamour-girl gorgeous and heartbreakingly normal. Along with Garfield, they’re all as gripping as the epic battles and furious faceoffs that make the movie pop.

Joe Neumaier rates a 4/5, via New York Daily News.

I just feel that some people here are preying upon the positivity around this film and not alowing the excitement that people have for this to breathe.

Regardless, I hope that SHH users like yourself and others who haven't seen the film yet grow a thicker skin and understand that there is clearly a sense of excitement around this film, from the GA and the movie critics alike. There are clearly people that would rather see this film failing, but I don't think that will be the case. Regardless, can't wait for the midnight of May 1st!!

I have to go, my lady is waiting for me. Stay classy, true believers!

Man the credits were awesome! I saw GG's glider, RHINO suit, Chameleon Mask, Vulture Wings, and Doc Ock's tentacles. :)

The Schmoes Knows reviews are positive.

3.25/5 and 3/6/5.

Definitely.

Seriously, I can't stress how important it is to see this movie twice.

They (the Schmoes) liked it? They pretty much *****ed about nearly everything. I'm impressed that they liked it.

They've been pretty against the film until they actually watched the film. They have some problems with t, but overall liked the film.

I've loved some of the comments about Andrew Garfield in the reviews. He is truely turning into an A-lister and I can see both him and Stone, possibly DeHaan too, winning Oscars in a non-CBM film before their careers are over.

The actors certainly are not the problem with this film, if only the script was better, could have had a 10/10 movie as a possibility. I have high hopes for the next film impressing critics the way the first two impressed me so much, but time will tell

So everyone from Garfield to Foxx pretty much put their all into it, is what I'm getting. Any issues were more the fault of the script if somebody feels that way.

I'm getting really scared with Dillon and the Kafta since they seem like the things that bring this down to B&R levels.
