The way the script went, you'd think the actors were writing scenes as they played out due to a writer's strike.

In fact...I've seen a movie where they did just that, and it was still better than TASM 2. It was called Quantum of Solace.

Brother that film sucked that film was just plain average.

Wait, I don't understand. They changed Rhino's origin during post-production?

So now that Rhino comes from oscorp, what was the sense of the opening truck chase?

Amazing how that little detail can make a big portion of the movie just fall apart lol if anyone needed proof that Sony aren't all that organized with this planning, there it is.

Yes. They decided that Rhino should be coming from Oscorp so they did some reshoots with the man in the shadows.

Oh God, it really shows how poorly conceived is the entire thing.

This universe is going to become so convulated. Why Sony? Why? Just make a Spider-Man movie. Not Spider-Man and his many, many, side characters. SPIDER-MAN. If you wanna establish characters, then do it subtley. Newspaper clippings, text beneath Breaking News bulletins, name drop etc. It could be something that manages to not be stilted, yet also fleshes the world out.

Yeah...that was kinda my point...hence:

and it was still better than TASM 2.

But I do have to ask...how can say something sucked and then go on to call it average? I think the two terms are mutually exclusive.

I just saw it. I have mixed feelings. It was ok, but perhaps I was expecting a lot more.
I spent the last week watching the Spectacular Spder-man on blu ray, so maybe my expectations were higher.

Pros

Garfield,Stone,Sally Field and Dehaan's acting.

Action /special fx

The chemistry between Peter/Gwen

For perhaps the first time in the live action films, Spider-mans humor was dead on. It felt straight out of the comics.

The webslinging/acrobatics/speed

Cons

Riddler, I mean Electro. This "nerd turns on his hero" cliche needs a break.

The film was rushed , rushed, rushed.
(HI Pete back from boarding school. How are you bro?
Im dying. Get me spideys blood. I cant give it to you.
You bastard. Spider-man is supposed to give hope not take it away.
You bastard you killed Kenny...I mean Gwen)

It felt like I was watching a collection of scenes edited togther rather than a continuous movie.

Peters Parents mystery- I really didnt give a crap about it to be honest. (lol at "Roosevelt")

Dr Kafka being some Nazi b-movie scientist. She was a minor character from the comics, but change the name if the character is going to take me out of the movie acting-wise.

Electro's theme sounded like something out of Jet Set Radio Future. Im surprised they didnt put Cibo Matto's birthday cake song in there.

Nowhere as bad as Batman and Robin, but cant' touch Cap2....

I love this movie so much I may watch it one more time so it equals the most I have watched a CBM at the cinema (SM2 - 5 times). I'm now up to 4.
The 3D and effects are so incredible it demands to be seen on the big screen.

Do we not understand how movies are made?
You can make movies with smart planning or you can put it together in a incredibly haphazard way. Both have lead to great and terrible films. The former though usually comes with far better results on average.

You know...I think one of the many reasons this franchise is awful is for how it treats the side characters and the world around Peter. What actually happened in TASM2? A whole lot of nothing, involving a grand total of two people: Peter and Gwen. Rarely did we see either of them interact with the people in their lives. Peter was supposed to be in college? Had I coughed or sneezed I would've missed that, same with his so-called "job" at the Bugle. Where were his colleagues? Who were his colleagues? Friends? Teachers? Pets?

For what the fans decribe as the most definitive adaptation of the character yet (please), this movie does its absolute best to trivialize and sweep aside some of the most pivotal aspects of Peter's life- college and work. Seems a very empty world for a character that is defined by his surroundings as Spider-Man is. Jameson and the Bugle being relegated to easter egg status is a travesty.

Bravo. :applaud

There have plenty of movies that have had disasterous productions but turned out to be really good movies. And I'm pretty sure the inverse of that is also true on some productions.

You're really being overly dramatic about this "outside world" you're talking about.

I edited and finished my post pretty quickly. The rest of my post covers that. I guess some couldn't wait to attack. :funny:
