I could easily make Mysterio a threat. You just need him to be a psychological one and toy with his mind!

That's what I was thinking. If he were to somehow figure out Spidey's identity he could then use Spidey's greatest fears and experiences against him to break him down. Problem is though, would that seem too much like something Scarecrow would do? Or is Mysterio regularlu look to as Spidey's answer to Scarecrow?

Mysterio has many times tried to drive Spider-Man mad, so the concept isn't without merit. But, you NEED to keep the fishbowl. The banter between he and Mysterio is one of the best things about all of his stories. You need that classic design to some degree.

Opps did not see this thread, I will just report my mini review.

Just saw this, I have to say Amazing!

If I had to score this based on how much I was entertained.. 10/10
I was very entertained by this movie.
Loved the action
Loved the music
Spider-Man was funny
Even loved the character non-spider man interactions.
Electro was great.
Ya the
Goblin is a throw in..
but hey I view him (and Rhino) as "proto/Pre" forms of themselves.

I do not bother to nit pick the little things.. this movie was 100% fun.
IMO better than all other Spider-Man films put together.

just a little confused by the X-Men bit Mid Credits..

Saw it today and it was so ****ing awesome. Best Spidey film yet and my favorite. I really really loved this movie so much. :woot: I need this on blu ray like yesterday. So pleased with this film. Had a mix of everything and I loved every minute of it. :word:

I agree completely. :yay:

Nice :yay: I really don't get some peoples complaints and nitpicks. Even some people comparing things to batman and robin level bad. They must have been watching a different film. Oh well cannot wait to see this again.

Well, I just saw this film. I was pretty excited for it and I liked TASM, so I had lots of hype for this. The movie has its good stuff and bad stuff. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have killer chemistry and were amazing in their respective roles. Dane Dehaan brought another layer to Harry. Sally Field's acting in the "You're my boy" scene was just pure gold. Now, I was a little disappointed in Jamie Foxx and Electro the character. Foxx wasn't terrible as Electro, but I was expecting more. He's a great actor. Paul Giammatti was just campy as hell.

The movie has a good amount of camp and cheese. Electro's backstory was kind of cheesy and odd. Then there was the good camp like all of the Spider-Man scenes. This movie gave him lots of wisecracks that were rather good.

Anyways, the action and visuals were fantastic. The scale was raised up a notch, and there was some really cool destruction. The scenes with Spidey swinging around kicking all kinds of ass were awesome. The ending with Gwen was very well done!

I know it sounds like I loved the movie, but I didn't. It just never felt great to me. Overall though, it's a decent sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. I, to be honest, was expecting to like this more than its predecessor, but I guess not. It might need to get another viewing from moi.

7/10

My main problem with this amazing spider man franchise are the villains. From their introductions to their motives, its all contrived and poorly executed. j

I have a some grievances with this film, but it's not even close to Batman Forever/Batman & Robin quality-and yes, I am taking Dr. Kafka, Rhino and Max Dillon into account.

I agree none of that warranted comparisons to batman and robin. A lot of people were saying that. I just really do not see it.

Completely agree. Unecessarily and regrettably flawed? I'd say so. Cringeworthy like the Schumaker Batman films? Nowhere near so, especially Batman and Robin, one of the worst films ever made. Give me a break.

Oh, this film got VERY cringeworthy! Electro, Rhino, Kafka, etc. Plenty of cringeworthy scenes in this film. Granted, Batman Forever didn't have great moments and this film did. But, TASM2 is not in a different ballpark. Has better seats, same ballpark.

I found a deleted scene for Electro...

Not at all. Not the same ballpark and it's a totally different sport :oldrazz: at least that's how I feel. No cringing in this movie for me.

Agreed. I didn't have the strong feeling against the 'cringeworthy' stuff people cite in TASM2 like others. I enjoyed it, and hope Webb isn't spooked and carries it over for the third. I like to have colour in Spidey flicks, and the darkness and grit in Batman.

Man, the more I read these criticisms, the more I feel like everybody saw a different film than I did.

Seen it three times now and it just keeps getting better. I pretty much utterly disagree with every major complaint leveled at the film: Jumbled plot, the hyperbolic Schumacher comparisons, crappy Electro...I don't just disagree with it, I flat out don't understand it.

I get the Iron Man 3 complaints, I get the Thor: TDW complaints, I get some of the MOS complaints. But this film...I'm left baffled by it's divisiveness.

The only complaints I mildly agree on is wanting more screentime from Electro and Goblin. Electro turned into a cool as hell villain in the final act, making up for his lack of sceentime during the second half of the film. Zapping people left and right without remorse, becoming nothing but current, huge displays of power, the gravelly/electric tone of his voice-the guy was pretty damn cool if you ask me. I just wanted more of him.

I'd also like to add I love the way Webb uses songs during certain scenes/montages. It really drives the scene home I feel, gives it more emotion. In the first film the whole scene/montage with cold play while peter is skateboarding and slinging around on the chains. And in this film the Phillip Phillips song while he starts doing all that stuff in his room, going through his dad's stuff etc. Those scenes to me are just so damn awesome with the music.

I guess it depends on the viewer. I haven't seen B&R since the one time I had the misfortune of it, and literally I got physically ill. Okay, maybe I was also suffering from a bout with sunstroke that day, but STILL, I recall it being a putrid film, exceeded in crapiness maybe only by the likes of Battlefield Earth. TASM2 has too many good aspects to it (Garfield and Stone, beautiful Spidey swinging, etc) to relegate it to amongst-worst-movies-ever-made status. I mean, really!!!
