i remember TeeKay saying it was better than Cap and John Campea saying "this movie is awesome" and now BOTH think it was just "good", so i think the movie we were looking for was THAT cut

It explains why Webb thought the Rhino's armor was Russian. It was until they decided to change it late in the game.

Absolutely. Rhino was supposed to make the suit, and Marc Webb confirmed that long ago. I sort of feel lied to now.

The moment Peter was crying over Gwen. Shed a tear, it was really well down imo. Well 3 people died for Peter to finally learn what responsibility, so I dunno man where his character goes forward from this.
Garfield sells it very well. If it wasn't powerful in theory (Wasn't it? It's the death of the gf), it definitely was in practice.
True, the moment was good.

They better explore it again! :cmad:

I do think that the plot line was left out unintentionally so the writers could sort of get back to it in the future (perhaps the killer is related to Felicia Hardy like in TSSM?), but IDK anymore. I really don't.

We'll see but sure, it doesn't matter at this point.

I guess it makes sense since the Sinister Six film wasn't announced until after filming was complete and additional shooting/reshoots took place a few months ago.

Which is interesting because when I first saw the final cut on bootleg, felt like I was watching a totally different movie in some places. Scenes like Harry and Gwen in the elvator, Gwen's funeral Mr Fier's (wasn't even referred to that in the rough cut) visiting Harry in his cell, the final fight with Electro and Goblin etc.

And were all those flaws absent in the cut you saw? Because you were extremely complimentary of it...

I wouldn't say the flaw, it's something that I had discussed months before I had even seen the film. They were edits made, new scenes put into the film. I still like the film nonetheless, but some decisions made in the final cut were very questionable imo.

it also explains why they were stealing plutonium from Oscorp! even you can see mising canister here:

He was mentioned at least 3 times by my count.

Was he? Need to re-watch it again. I stand corrected.

When I first heard the entire post credits scene was put in the film I was like what? Made no sense to me until I actually saw the film. They took out the symbiote and replaced it with Rhino's mech. Glad they cut out the Norman bit though, that was just ehhh....

Tee can you give us an entire summary of your cut?

Holy hamburgers?!?!?

I was wondering why they were stealing the plutonium. :funny:

Maybe what was different, what was the same, and what was better?

So the plutonium powers the suit? Well made sense why he was was stealing it. That was nowhere mentioned in both cuts of thew film though.

Tee can you give us an entire summary of your cut?

Writing a detailed comparison review, have some of it done. Will post it whenever I can.:yay:

Now I know why there was no post-credit scene.

Thanks! :)

So now that Rhino comes from oscorp, what was the sense of the opening truck chase?

Interesting how Oscorp decides to hire someone who steals stuff from them. :)

I guess you can just assume that Aleksei was stealing it for something else. W/e.

Interesting in the, we are making this up as we go along kind of way. :D

Honestly, yes, kinda.

Man, they really couldn't ease up on the S6 stuff, and let ASM2 be its own movie, could they?

I still really like the movie, but yeah...

I think that there was another subplot involving the Rhino, but they probably saw that there was too much going on and they decided to make it come from Oscorp.

I can't imagine any particular cut of this movie doing much to help things.

So long as the broad strokes were still the same, the performances remained, and the plot beats were still there, I believe the result would have largely been the same. But hey, I could be wrong. $255 million seems like a vastly inflated budget for a movie like this with such short action and fight sequences. Makes me wonder just how much was left on the cutting room floor.

In general, however, I'm not one of those that makes a big hoopla over 5 or 6 minutes of added content. Much like how I really don't understand how the longer fight with the ninja clan somehow elevates The Wolverine as a genre classic, in spite of the myriad of other problems in that movie.

The way the script went, you'd think the actors were writing scenes as they played out due to a writer's strike.

In fact...I've seen a movie where they did just that, and it was still better than TASM 2. It was called Quantum of Solace.
