I don't see how that excuses a piss poor final product.
Hey, I enjoyed it, so at least one person didn't think it was piss poor

How many great films add completely new plot lines while doing that?
Saw it for the 4th time today and when it was over my first thought was, 'I want to see it again'.
You're really being overly dramatic about this "outside world" you're talking about.

Give me an example of the films that's done it and I'll tell you.
He was mentioned at least 3 times by my count.
You were the one defending the idea that what they did is normal, nature and a good idea. Now I would like you to show me examples. You don't have to of course, but then don't go around like we all don't know how movies are made. I understand film production. I also understand that the vast majority of reshoots and pickups are done when a scene needs to changed or after a cut is the film is scene, and the film is not working without certain scenes.Give me an example of the films that's done it and I'll tell you. You're making it seem like this is a new invention.
Nice. I think the most I've seen a flick in theaters has been 3.
According to who, you? I'm hurt.
Explain to me why a more believable, fleshed-out world would be less stimulating and beneficial to the character than the bubble of "protagonist and love interest".
Try it without being crass this time.
Nothing wrong with that. I certainly wasn't attempting to speak for anyone but myself.

Here we have changes and additions made by the studio specifically for the purpose of setting up future films. It has nothing to do with the story or quality of this film.
I didn't say it's a good idea. I said it isn't anything new, so I don't see why everyone is shocked.
Considering the fact that it felts like I was watching a totally different movie at times, I'm not sure how that's a good thing tbh.
These type of re-shoots and pickups are rare. Very rare. As in I am having trouble remembering any at the moment outside of the disaster that was the new 47 Ronin film. You know, a film where they hijacked the plot and added a lot for Keanu's character just because the studio wasn't happy with the lack of Keanu.I didn't say it's a good idea. But again you are the one saying it is common place, so what other films have done this and it has worked out for?
Never said you did.![]()
So why are you giving us all lessons on how not rare this is?I don't follow every film. I only pay attention to cbm's like this.
So why are you giving us all lessons on how not rare this is?![]()
Oh, it isn't surprising after watch this film. Not with how all over the place the film is. The lack of a strong narrative thread. Not a surprise at all.Would it have been better if I would've said it shouldn't be surprising? Because it's really not. Don't care how rare it is.
Throwing in more characters in there doesn't mean the world is more fleshed out.
There were plenty of characters in this film as is. Sequels can always introduce more characters like Liz, bringing Flash back and all that.
So why are you giving us all lessons on how not rare this is?![]()
Uh...in a movie like this, whereby the lifestyles of each lead actor are relegated to a sentence and an easter eggl, then it would certainly help, especially when said characters are an important part of the mythos. Aside from that, you're trivializing my message. I never said "toss in a bunch of random people, lulz". I'm specifically speaking to things that would affect the protagonists, as in, not just people, but their environment as well. Where the hell was the daily bugle? Empire State U? A news stand for crying out loud? Seems like there were a grand total of three locales in this movie - Oscorp, Times Square, and Peter's room.
The only problem I had with the no Bugle, was the teasing of JJJ. It was like an excuse for why Peter has money, without having to show him working. A bit lazy and they teased JJJ, without any intention of showing him.
