...........That makes me kind of want to crash Sony's office and break stuff................. :cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad:

*Counts to 10*
Apparently they messed with quite a bit after [BLACKOUT]Gwen died[/BLACKOUT]. Beside that, Peter read a letter instead of listening to the speech and the Sinister Six set up scene was original mid-credit. Rhino was seemingly still working for himself in the original cut, and thus the opening still made sense.

The problem with Harry is he's forced into the film. I love Colm Feore, but his role was useless in this film. The whole subplot of him wanting to take over the company is completely wasted, and it's wasted film time that could have been used to get to know Harry better.

There's one freaking scene in the movie that shows Harry and Peter talking about their friendship!

Because we don't buy it, it cheapens his role. The whole Goblin reveal was so uninspiring compared to the reveal in Raimi's film.

And that is where I will agree on your dislike of Webb here. That is just as much on him as it is the writers and producers.

See! I have reasons to pin blame on him, LOL!!!!! :hehe:

Yeah...that would have ended the film on a MUCH stronger note. I hate it when they deny me the full movie in the theater and I have to watch it on my TV instead of the GIANT SCREEN I PAID 10-15 BUCKS TO SEE THIS ON!!!!!! It makes me furious when they do bullcrap like this! :cmad:

One thing that really bothered me and tell me if I'm in left field here or not. But, is it just me or does Spidey and Gwen [blackout] kill Electro [/blackout] ?

I forgot to mention that in my review, but that's the impression I got and I was dumbfounded. I'm not sure if that was the writers intent or not.

Yeah, I know. It's second only to SM2 for me. :oldrazz:

It's my third after SM2 and SM1... but it does stand head and shoulders above TASM1, which I don't like too much.

You can't kill electricity.

At least he makes pretty movies... no, not enough is it. :csad:

And it isn't like the movie was 3 hours. It barely cracked 2:20 with credits.

Ehh we'll see.
Do you know something I don't. Will they be editing the film and re-release it in theaters to be seen? Will I have to pay for my ticket again? Because I'd really feel cheated if I did. I'd like the whole movie when I go to the theater.

Not for me :csad:

But, truth be told, Sony will just hire a yes man to replace him, and we'll just get more movies like this! Ugh :csad:

Barely cracked that, and they could have cut a few moments out of this movie and no one would have missed them! Why don't we shave down Max being pathetic in his apartment, and replace that time with SPIDEY AND GOBBY BEATING THE CRAP OUT OF EACH OTHER!!!! :cmad:

If Avi is going to continue to contribute to ruining Spider-Man films, and this arguably three on the bounce, maybe he should just do it himself. That way we all know who to blame

Tell me you didn't think Jim Carrey's Riddler during that scene. Except even more pathetic. :funny:

I only said we'll see. Jesus Christ.
What will we see though? They can't "fix" the movie now. They can't add more. Sure you could do the LotR thing, but why am I waiting for the "real" film on blu ray? I didn't pay 11 bucks for that.

I did feel a little let down with the Goblin/Spidey fight as well. Whatever cut of the film that TeeKay saw sounded really awesome.

By the way, I totally forgot they cut the MJ scenes. Didn't really cross my mind, though thinking about it they would have taken place while Peter was moping. Probably could have helped with his character. I doubt he was jerk to MJ. She might have even made him smile.

They cut so much, they can add a lot of it back.

And how does this help the movie they released in theaters? That is my and Spider-Fan's point. I didn't pay to see the rough cut.

LOL!!!! He might as well be honest about it :hehe:

Like I said, he was Edward Nygma Riddler...only somehow WORSE! That shouldn't ever happen, lol.

Thank you! My issue isn't that scenes are cut, it is the studio is denying YOU, the CONSUMER, the true movie experience, and allowing you to feed them millions (or billions) to see a rough cut on inferior equipment. That is bullcrap.

If it lenghtens the goblin fight, gives extra Electro scenes, extra Harry scenes, I don't see how it can hurt.

Don't worry. I don't think this will be reaching billions. And of course, completely agree. While I enjoy my home video setup, if I am going to pay those prices for theater tickets I'd like your best effort please.

I don't think you understand our point. If the version the blur ray is better, why do I have to wait for blu ray to see it?

I'm saying for all movies in general, not just this one. I despise that studios continue to pull this bullcrap, especially as frequently as they do. I don't want a Director's Cut DVD, I WANT THE DIRECTOR'S CUT IN THE DANG THEATER OPENING DAY!

To fatten their wallets. Deleted scenes are used as a gimmick to sell DVD's now a days

TeeKay saw a cut before they messed with it. Harry starts laughing at Peter after [BLACKOUT]Gwen dies[/BLACKOUT]. Pete loses it and proceeds to beat the hell out Harry. And it makes sense. Harry getting knocked out looks horrible and probably was added pretty late.

That sucks. No need for that to be cut out. Some of the scenes they have cut out in these first two movies have been head-scratching.

I was wondering why they didn't show Peter retaliate at all. I just thought he was too broken up to do anything about it.

These deleted scenes better be included in the BluRay.

I thought there were a couple of well thought out themes in the story about abandonment and loss. Electro was abandoned (and therefore lost) by society. Parker was abandoned by his parents which caused him to overcompensate as Spider-man by trying to be that person who gave people the hope he never had. Gwen felt abandoned by Parker and by the death of her dad. And Harry was detached and abandoned from his father before losing him to an illness that was taking his own life as well. And each made a conscious decision how to respond to that emotion when given the opportunity to address it. Electro succumb to the addiction of power and the attention it commands. Both Parker and Gwen run from their feelings of abandonment and choose to embrace one another and accept the risks (but believing they can control them). And Harry, desperate to save his own life so he can find meaning and statement for his existence, embraces the risks of taking the spider extract formula. I thought it all fit very well. Unfortunately I think the critics came in looking for something more superficial and missed the story here. The best analogy I can make is they came to a Rocky film looking for a boxing movie and missed the part about personal redemption. And it's not like these themes are buried in the script. They stand tall and clear. And honestly those are the areas that make this film so surprisingly deep in many places. Even Aunt May is brought into the equation to try and teach Peter how she dealt with her loss of Uncle Ben. It's a surprisingly powerful story throughout.
