The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - User Review Thread! - SPOILERS! - Part 5

Was anyone else laughing during Gwen's death scene when Spidey thwipped his web and it looked like a little hand trying to save her? It was a great scene but that part was so cheesy, almost killed the moment for me.

Yup even in the serious scenes they pump in the cheese.

I was "warned" of the hand/web thing prior to seeing the movie, but it honestly didn't bother me. All things considered, I thought that moment was tastefully done.

What did bother me, though, was all of the painfully obvious foreshadowing throughout the course of the movie, as well as all the fakeouts before Gwen actually died.

My friend laughed and I thought it was kind of funny but it lasted for 2 seconds. Gwen was still going to die.

I think a better edited cut of the film might win people over. I could have done without Gwen's line "Peter!" in the last act and there were a few things I think they could have toned down but they didn't kill the movie for me. Kafka was in the film for 2 minutes tops. Same goes for Pre-electro who wasn't that bad but I felt they should have included his cut scenes to really show his motivations more.

If the movie/script was better, then instances like Kafka would be more excuseable, but as it is, these things (no matter how little screentime) are tangible details that give the fanboys something to rail against the film when they aren't the source of the problem (dancing in SM3 for instance).

True. I think that Marc will try to rectify that in the next film. It also comes down to editing. In the defense of the next movie it seems like they won't have as much to juggle with.

No Peter/Gwen
Not as much of Peter's Parents anymore
Harry's already here
Sin Six is already being formed or it's remaining members might be in this film.

Didnt like the movie at all

Visually stunning though

Eh, Peter/Gwen will just be replaced with Peter/Mary Jane. And they might even throw in Felicia Hardy as Black Cat to make it a love triangle.

No they won't. Marc has mentioned many times that MJ might not be in the film right off the bat. Besides Peter isn't going to be so gungho about being in a relationship so soon.

And I doubt they will do that with Felicia. Marc said not everything that was teased will see come to fruition. They don't need to overcrowd the movie.

Marc says a lot of things. I doubt that they'll make SM3 without MJ, but that's just me. And I agree, they don't need to overcrowd the movie. But that doesn't mean they won't. *shrug*

I don't think they will. Technically they had a story already for this film and the producers wanted the Sin Six bits.

Also editing hurt the film a little bit but it's understandable because the movie is already pretty long and they can't include everything. I think they might tease MJ but not introduce her immediately. At least not in a relationship capacity.

Um, no. It was a great visual and only enhanced the scene.

Yeah. I have no idea why that would make someone laugh.

I thought it was corny. Very eye-roll inducing moment for me; this is the exact sort of heavy handed imagery that should be avoided.

TASM was my favorite superhero movie of 2012 so I really wanted to love its sequel too...and I was for the first half. There were some missteps, especially pertaining to Electro, but I could handle it. At one point I was even wondering what the critics were smoking when the panned this movie - and then Dr. Kafka showed up. Kafka himself was bad enough, but the whole movie went into the toilet after his arrival. I'm surprised more people haven't commented on the awfulness of Harry's transformation into Green Goblin. For me, that was the moment when I truly realized TASM2 had crossed into Schumacher territory. I'll grudgingly give this a 6/10, but that's mostly due to the leads, who were wonderful in their roles.

You mean when she was attached to the car and called after him? What was wrong with that?

I wasn't mad at it but I just felt like it was a pretty serious scene and it felt out of place. Combined with the music of the scene it felt extremely camp. As for Harry's transformation I thought it was great but it could have been a little longer and they could have explained or shown him laughing. They should have explained what the venom does and shown him actually struggling to put the suit on and then attacking Oscorp.

anyone else thinks if sony didn´t want to be Marvel we would´ve had a better movie?

^Yes. I doubt they would've jammed so much in if they'd gone about things naturally. A movie without the Green Goblin would've been much better because we could've had more focus on Electro. He wasn't really a bad villain but he needed better motivations and overall less campiness.

Nods. They could have done it. They could have just built up Harry and his disease. But tbh I still liked the film. I'm glad they are focusing on the Spider-man universe instead of having stand-alone stories like the Raimi movies. I just think that they could have also benefited by including more of Spider-man's supporting cast like Liz Allan and Flash etc. Pete is so isolated in these films besides Gwen.

yeah, but they did build up all of this is one movie, just shunned the Parker´s storyline and rushed the whole thing making it, less-efective, see all the reviews and the RT, is not going bad but is not going great as they planned. they had the oportunity to win an audience and they ended up scarying away some that they had:csad:

Not really. I mean the Sin Six stuff is towards the end of the film. Rhino was meant as a cameo and I wasn't to keen on them having his suit in the chambers. Not everything should come from Oscorp. Anyway It's not like the entire movie had no purpose.

I could see if they shoved in Ock,Vulture,Kraven and the others in one film with no explanation. They really didn't. They teased it.
