I really really enjoyed ASM2 and its tied up with SM2 as my favorite Spidey film,

However, I wonder if I'll start to hate ASM2 once the excitement wears off.

I don't get how you could start to not like a movie that you liked at first. I have never been has excited for a movie has I was for sm3 and after I saw it I liked it but I thought it would be much much better and so even though I liked it I still felt very dissapoted by it.

While the aged thing I can understand because some movies aged better then others. Plus has other movies come out older movies might drop down on you list. Exnample when spider man 1 came out it was my favorite CBM now it is probly like my 10th or something. It dosnt mean I like it less just means that other movies came out that I like more witch then makes the movie semed worse then it was. Sm1 I don't think has aged while in treams of CGI and just how intretaing it is where sider man 2 has had greatly.

I completely agree with you. I saw it last week for the second time and I enjoyed it even more. I didn't see the things people were complaining about to be big issues.

I enjoyed Spider-Man 3 eventhough it was FULL of major issues I still enjoyed it. TASM2 honestly didn't have any big issues as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, I did notice that. He's either burned out from hype, so disappointed that he can't even bring himself to talk about it, or both.

I didn't even see a review or reaction from him.

That's closer to the truth I'd say. The shine wore off and people saw the movie for the flawed film it is. I think the same thing will happen with TASM 2. Heck even now it's not getting a big positive reception from fans. At best it's divided.

I think both of the TASM movies will be largely forgotten in time as flawed reboot movies that really failed to capture the audience and fans. As of right now I enjoy Spider-Man 3 more than the two TASM movies and I think SM-3 is very flawed.

As bad as I used to criticize SM3 for its writing and poor characters and I make no apologies about it, it still had some great moments.

Peter going dark at the very beginning of getting the suit was great. Sandman's birth scene. And still one of my all time favorite moments was Peter and Harry's fight at the mansion. That was deep and had me on the edge of my seat. Immediately after that scene is where the corny silliness took me out of the film. It just went downhill from there.

The Sandman birth scene.
The Peter/GG2 fight.
The Spidey/Sandman fight 1 (armored truck).
The Spidey/Sandman fight 2 (Subway station).
Black costume takes over Peter scene.
Bell tower scene.
Birth of Venom.

Good scenes in isolation but the whole is pretty bad.

Don't disgrace Catwoman by putting it in the same sentence as. Spider-Man 3.

It wouldn't be... if it were true. From what I've seen, both online and in real life, the gap between the fanboy crowd and the "regular" crowd is not as wide as you'd think. And while I've seen lots of love for many fanboy favorites (TDK, Avengers, SM2, Iron Man...), one thing I have NOT heard overwhelmingly is SM3 being called a good flick. What else can I say.

100% agreed! It isn't nearly as hated as people claim. Also, what shocks me about that poll vs TASM2's poll is the voter quantity. Look at SM3. it had like thousands of votes! You don't see that same number for TASM2.

I can't really say I like it, but I sure as hell don't "hate" it. Hate is a strong f**king word.

It's a 6/10 for me.

He must've been devastated by the movie to drop this forum like a hot potato after building it up for the last two years.


I guess,I'm running out of things to say about the film at this point.After seeing it the 2nd time,I feel pretty much the same as before.A good film,bordering on greatness in a way,but with some pretty poor stuff that holds it back.

It's actually a great film to discuss for me because it's a mixed bag.A great film like CA:TWS gets tough to talk about when it's mostly "rah-rah!Film was perfect!" and kicking an outright stinker (like TASM t gets old after a while.
