Had he not forced Venom onto Sam, we would have gotten a MUCH better movie.

I mind it.

Personally, I'm willing to sacrifice Vulture for Venom. Venom was really the best choice to use after Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus.

And since were sequel casting, Mary Elizabeth Winstead for Mary Jane! :awesome:

Yes.

natural selection is writing at it's very best.

conners take the serium and grows his arm back, his family are overjoyed.

juxapose this with peter holding out helping his aunt with all the bills.

conners celebrates with gwen, pete and eddie. the wife notices the scales and then there is the full on change.

peter ditches the team who are trying to make a cure using his curfew as a excuse to get out

peter saves lizard but has to cash in the picture with which he helps his aunt with the bills.

the lab team are angry at pete for selling the pictures for a profit.

pete contemplates taking the gene cleanser to get rid of his spidey powers and problems but decides people need him even if he is getting no recognition.

briliant writing and I hope the structure of ASM is HALF as good as this episode.

and that is why I can never hold anything from spider-man in high regard when compared to spectacular..that doesn't mean spider-man was a bad show at all, I can still watch it now and be entertained but spectacular was just on a different level

So as long as you got to see a (sub-par, imo) version of Venom... that affected the quality of the movie, you'd be happy?

Spider-Man 3 would have worked SO MUCH better if it was split in two movies.

Have the Sandman and Vulture storyline as Sam originally planned, introduce the symbiote, end the movie in the belltower, Peter gets rid of the symbiote and have Venom as the main villain for Spider-Man 4.

Would Vulture have really made the movie any better? If you really want to help the movie, drop Sandman, and use Harry Osborn and maybe Venom.

Agreed. The basic themes of Spider-Man (maturity and responsibility) lend themselves to character progression very well.
Agreed. I thought Sam did that perfectly. I mean, we saw Peter mature through each film and it really was a great journey because the audience matured as well. I would like to see it again here.

Considering he was what SAM WANTED, yes. He would have.

Even though I prefer Venom, I'd rather see a good movie that doesn't have shoe-horned characters rather than the complete opposite.

She's cute
Can't say anything about how she acts

That's my whole point about here in a nutshell.

SHE'S NOT THAT GREAT AN ACTRESS!

I just don't want here as May Jane. I don't think she could keep up with the other actors in this franchise acting wise. I want a REALLY as she's one of the most emotionally complex characters in the Spider-Man Mythos.

Plus, I want an actress who actually looks like Mary Jane rather than an actress who doesn't and just has Red Hair (like Kirsten Dunst) or an Actress who just Vaguely resembles her (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).

That also depends on the age they present her as...MJ as an 18 year old won't look like MJ as a 25 year old so her appearance should be based on that but also..how many actresses look like MJ?? Mostly just models are built like that lol..I think the actual physicality of MJ may be sacrificed because there aren't many actresses who are built that way and the ones who are, are a bit older. With that said, although she's a blonde, Alice Eve would fit the bill look wise and acting wise, plus she's a brit so Andrew would be all about that lol..and she's gorgeous. Ok with that said, she's my pick, she just doesn't look like a high school girl at all, that would be the only problem

Been championing Mary Elizabeth Winstead for awhile. I'll be very surprised if she isn't cast.

The Vulture seems to be very underrated by some people here. I believe, had Sam Raimi got the permission to do what he actually wanted, SM3 could have been the best film in the trilogy. The ideas he had for the Vulture and Sandman relationship were really good if you ask me, and they are both villains with lots of underrated potential. I think Sir Ben Kingsley as Vulture, as it was intended, would have been the truly evil villain the trilogy needed.

I too like the idea of the Vulture being in a Spider-man film. I just think that John Malkavich would have given a too over the top performace. The Vulture should be subdued and intense with occasional burts of unbridled anger.

Sir Ben Kingsley was supposed to be Vulture in SM3, which would have been perfect IMO. He'd nail it.

I gotta disagree here. Peter saw absolutely zero maturation in SM3. There was no character development from SM2 to SM3. But we should stop talking about Raimi's films before this thread, which has been surprisingly on topic, gets closed by C. Lee.

How are you going to find an actress that looks like a character that's been drawn by dozens if not hundreds of artists over the years? The only thing consistent about her is her hair color. If you find a pretty redhead with green eyes who can act and fits the age range you're there.

And yeah, Winstead is perfect imo.

SSM had a slow burn for all their main villians so the pay off hits home when pete finally confronts them because you know the motivation which is driven the villian to do what they are doing.

JL/JLU will always be my favorite cartoon of all time (and I'm a marvel guy) but SSM is a very very close second.

on TV.com the average score (series) for JL/JLU is 8.8 and for SSM it's 8.7. to put it in context, the wire is 8.9 and dexter is 9.1.

Same. Though at the same time they could a lesser known, on the brink, actor, like they did with Garfield. As for MEW's acting ability, she's done the best with the material she's been given imo. I don't think we've actually seen her go her full range., and I think she'd be a good MJ.

There is no way the Wire should be anything less than a 9 or below Dexter lol..The Wire is, to me, the greatest tv drama ever and one of the most addictive shows I've ever watched with the writing rivaling a lot of movies and literature

Venom....for a fourth movie. As much as I would have used the symbiote, Venom and even Sandman were not necessary. Harry should have been the main, and only villain. That would've been a better movie. And besides, to a point, Black-Suited Spider-Man could have been a villain, so we wouldn't need two more.

I'm sure you will. I doubt the entire series will be placed within high school. I wouldn't mind if the sequel is partly during Peter's senior year then as a freshman in college. As much as Raimi tried to keep the progressing story of Peter going through life, I hope Webb pays more attention to Peter in school, either high school or college. We rarely saw Peter in college and I always forget that Peter was still in college in Spider-Man 3 because we hardly saw it.

I have no clue how she is as an artist, never watched a thing with her

Thank you

If this production was coming out back in 2002 he would have had the world in it's hands.

Even Raimi's opus would be less of a sell given next year's slate.
