New pic of Spidey is awesome and Emma Stone :hrt: what a cutie.

Never heard of those before very reccently, and never felt compelled to search for them

Is that a cat with a square pizza for physique?

Man, it must be pretty uncomfortable living under that rock for the past 3 years.

WTF IS NYAN CAT.
You know what, I don't want to know. It's ****ing stupid.
The last time I cared about any Internet memes was when Chocolate Rain and Leave Britney Alone were the most popular.

That Spider-Nyan was sweet.

And where was everybody reading Electro and Lizard in that description for the adaptation? I can't find it anywhere.. Electro's one of my top choices for a villain that hasn't been used yet on the big screen after the Lizard.

I apologize if I boost another fire on these boards, but I feel I have to bring up this point.

To all you, who claim themselves as loyal fans of Spider-Man
To all you, who prefer to ignore the new film series for their 'realism'
To all you, who believe that movies have to be faithful to their original sources

According to Stan Lee, from its very origin, Spider-Man was intended to be a realistic hero. As he says, the prime attribute of the character was the fact that he was a real person.

Now, as Webb discusses, his film heavily depends on creating this realistic athmosphere, which would very much resemble our world with the protagonist inside.

You may say the fmovie will suck or not. Doesn't matter at this point. What actually matters is what vision the director has in his mind. The way he sees his story to be told, since this is one of the most critical aspects of what makes films to the big screen.

In the end, it makes little sense to judge the entire story on whether Peter's hair is too big or whether the Lizard will wear a lab coat. What matters is the credibility and depth of the characters themselves and the way story progresses. The way it is set in our world, so it is possible for us to relate. Something that once brought the character to the stardom and turned him into an icon.

I've always loved Electro.

Electro & Mysterio are the two unused characters I want to see the most on the big-screen. I think they would actually make a good pair to have in a movie. Especially since they're both "washed-out/loser" villains.

Interesting excerpts from the EMPIRE issue:

Marc Webb on why he chose Garfield: "In his screentest, he killed it. He moved like an awkward kid, his elbows were flying all over the place, but he also had an ability to go deep in a way that very few actors can do. [frick], he's good."

Emma Stone put her two cents in: "Marc's a believer in love," added Stone. And we were lucky to be able to express the authenticity of two people in love. Getting involved with Peter is the first irresponsible thing she's ever done"

Andrew Garfield discussing what makes playing Spidey interesting and the "responsibility" of it: "I've been thinking about the responsibility of it since I read the comics, and what the character's always meant to me. He's a reassuring character, and a character who I think is important, for whatever reason, for skinny boys around the world. I think it's compelling he's a teenage superhero. It's an interesting dilemma to be going through. That's a very cool and specific struggle to try to capture."

Agreed overall. I've always loved Electro.
I liked the TSSM version of him. I felt bad for him when I first the second episode [even though at that time, it was just a pass the time show]. Though it doesn't make sense to me why he wanted to called Electro, but still wanted to be cured. I was surprised that it wasn't like that in the comic.

Whoever said that Electro was in the movie tie in wasn't reading the right page. He's not in the movie tie-in.

Hrm...so Electro won't be in the comic adaptation? Darnit...there goes my hopes for a cameo of sorts setting up the sequel

Both the Hobbit teaser and the TDKR trailer came out this week. They're probably afraid that no one is going to care about their movie.

Imo, I will obviously care for a trailer for TAS-M, although the reboot has gone down a notch for the 2012 movies I'm excited about...after seeing the Hobbit's trailer, it's right under TDKR. It brought me back to when I first saw the trailer to Fellowship.

Thoughts on this?

It all sounds great...but it's pretty much the same thing that's been said and regurgitated since Comic con.

After watching too many crappy movies I decided not watch watch any movie that is not about:
Comic book (I like them all, none is really THAT bad)
Historic event or personality
Something I watched before

Rather than watching a "crappy movie" you could look it up on Rotten Tomatoes or a similar site to see if you'll like it.

By limiting the movies you watch to those 3 categories... you're missing out on a ****load of great movies.

Rotten Tomatoes gave Mortal Kombat a rotten tomato, that one is a fun ride
I watched too many movies, loads and loads of crap, so screw movies out of these three categories
Rowan Atkinson movies are an exception

Awesome. You're the one missing out though, not me. :o
