The Amazing Spider-Man: The Game

I think we all can thank Aziz for the award. Since I put him on ignore list, annoyingness went down 90% here.

...and the remaining 10% of annoyingness is because I can see his stupid posts when others quote him.

Do so

How do people see it that way? All that it has in common with SM2 is being a free roam Raimi movie game, some combat moves, reflexes, aerial acrobatics and pole swinging, other than that it is too different
I really think you should just let it go. People here dont like SM3 and while you may think its one of the greatest Spidey games ever created, it might be best to just agree to disagree and fight the urge to always come back to argue the point that it isnt whenever someone says something that isnt positive about it. Ditto on the excessive SD hate.

Exactly... I don't understand what people want on this forum sometimes. Fair enough, everyone is entitled to express their opinions, their likes and dislikes, but once it's clear there is no room for discussion and everyone is firm in what they believe, why go on? You're not going to change the way anyone feels about something. Aziz isn't going to convince people who hate SM 3 that they are wrong anymore that people will be able to convince Aziz that SM 3 sucks.

It's like religion, you're perfectly entitled to believe whatever the hell you want, but the moment you try to enforce it on others is when you can get right the **** out :P

I actually think SM3 is Aziz's religion...

Like I said, I don't care if the dude loves SM 3, no reason he can't. I know I've enjoyed (and defended) my share of crap games. But I'm not gonna try and pass them off as the 2nd coming. So let's all drop it and focus on the potential this NEXT game has.

Here's a topic for discussion... So I know a lot of us want this to feel like a true, spiritual successor to SM2 the game and to bring Spidey back triumphantly to free roam gaming, but how do you think the tropes of modern gaming may influence this game? Do you think we'll see quick time events and interactive cut scenes, or more like the Batman games, with a lot of in game cutscene type things? I'm curious to see what Beenox can do with more freedom in this game, as far as expanding on the previous Spidey free roams go.

I believe the next game will be much better than SM3. Because SM3 sucks.

Nah just kidding ;) I have some hopes for ASM. I just hope it will have a coherent story that doesn't suffer due to the free roam. Free roam games usually make the story feel "split" somehow IMO. While I look extremely much forward to a free roam Spider-Man game, I hope the story doesn't suffer.

Dude, I know you've got Aziz blocked, but in the spirit of moving on, let's not keep bashing SM 3. It's just trying to get a reaction. To be perfectly honest, I don't think it was truly that bad a game anyway, but now I feel it's being rubbished in an extreme way as a reaction to Aziz.

Let's stay objective and on the topic of THIS game.

I toned it down a lot, think it's one of the better SM games now. I feel like bashing something hard for a while, laugh at it a lot later

Well, not to sound like one of them filthy left wing, commie pinkos, but how about we all lay off bashing anything for a while? It essentially just leads to pages and pages of utter garbage.

Swimming Spidey? I wouldn't mind, but I don't really see much need for it. Still, it is always lame in games when the moment you land in water it just fades to black and you're back on land. Takes you out of the moment a little.

That's why I wanted him swimming for a while, that black screen is a pain, mainly if it fails a mission

I wasn't serious! :P you missed the "nah just kidding" part

It doesn't matter whether you were kidding, it's still stirring. He's blocked you anyway, so it doesn't matter.

I'd like to see them make this game where the 'free roam' part actually matters. In past games you spent a lot of time swinging across the NYC landscape just to get to the next mission. After the story and missions had been finished there really wasn't much to do besides swing around and stop a silly crime like a few carjackers.

It'd be nice if they could make some more interesting side missions and random crimes that make the free-roam have a greater purpose.

It's the other way around, unless he's blocked me as well. Anyway, I get your point and won't repeat that.

Cheers dude :P Let's be the awesome, passionate fans that have helped dominate popular culture, not the snarky, sarcastic fanboys who live in sitcoms :P We all love Spidey, so lets talk about that.

Yeah definitely! We all want the ultimate Spider-Man game.

Anyone knows how long Spider-Man is tied to Activision?

You know, I'm still completely bewildered as to why Activision never gave the franchise to Radical Entertainment. I know those dudes could have made a sweet Spidey game.

Rumours are they worked on it while Spider-Man 4 was supposed to happen, right? I believe they could have made a very cool Spider-Man game! But I'm still glad Activision gave it to Beenox. They really seem to have the heart and with time they'll learn more and more I think.

Let's hope Beenox is allowed to prove how much they love Spidey.

I think they already have with their efforts on SD and EoT. They have given us some lore we haven't encountered before in past games and have incorporated some really cool stuff.

If I'm not mistaken and i rarely am, i think its through 2017.

Imagine the horror if, after all these years at Activision, the rights would go to...SEGA! :P
